Panera - anything I can eat?

Going to Panera tonight with a friend. I just started P2. Haven't had any fruits or grains today yet. What can I have besides coffee? I love their paninis, can I get one and just not eat the bread? Are any of their salads better than others? Any of the breads approved? I did look at the nutritional info and it did not look promising... Holding out hope :)

Thanks!

They have a chicken ceasar salad. That always a pretty safe choice almost anywhere. Their greek salad is also fine. Their Asian is VERY close to legal if you skip the wonton crisps - the dressing is a reduced-sugar asian and has 4 g sugar and the limit is 3 g, so being on phase 3 I often get this one. Stay away from their balsamic dressing, its very high in sugar.

I often get the "You Pick Two" with a 1/2 chicken ceasar salad (skip the croutons) or greek salad and a cup of black bean soup or garden vegetable soup (eating around the pasta).
Being on phase 3 I will occasionally have a 1/2 piece of their whole grain bread, but its not technically legal (only 1.5g fiber serving instead of 3g).

Hi,

You can have most of the salads but toss the croutons.

Thanks ladies! That's what I figured... I'm not a big fan of Caesar salad, so i may try the asian without the wontons and ask for dressing on the side. or some black bean soup. or both :) Thanks again!

I did pretty well I think... I had the Asian chicken salad w/o wontons and with dressing on the side, so I only had half of it or so. The salad was ok, but very little and not at all what I pictured it would be. I also had an apple, diet pepsi and a coffee. Not too bad, but I think I'll try to pick a different place with more choices next time. Thanks again everyone for your help1
