Advice from Trainer Bob.

Q:  I am 28 ,about 5'6 and weigh 155 lbs. I would like to lose 15 to 20 lbs. I have been going to the gym and eating less but still am not losing any weight. What should I do? – Sarah from Quincy, Mass.

A:  I would suggest eating every 4 hours for a total of 1,200 calories a day and, please, make sure you are eating within the first 30 minutes from waking up. When it comes to burning fat, it is all about cardio! Get your heart rate up and keep it up for at least 30 to 45 minutes a day, 5 to 6 days a week. Take a spin or boot camp class at your gym. Go for a power walk or jog in your neighborhood. Your main objective is to get your heart rate up and burn the fat that's on your skeleton.

I would say that if that person is doing that much exercise, she would require a LOT more than 1200 calories.

I know that for me personally in order to lose weight I need to eat between 1,200 and not more than 1,400 calories per day to lose weight.

It is the same for me as it is for Cathy.

You know I had this epiphany the other day.

Try starting your daily calorie counting at 5 PM.

Joy,

Instead of tracking your calories for just a week, why not make a habit of it?

Maggie,

I will admit that yesterday it wasn't too difficult.
