Kitchen Scales

I'm seriously considering picking up a kitchen scale to better monitor things.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom as to what to look for and/or avoid in terms of functions?
I know I want a digital one, but I'm so at the beginning of looking that I don't even know how it will be powered. I also know I don't need to spend a small fortune on one, especially since Mark will think it's a waste of money. Fortunately, I have money from my bonus at the end of the year to use for it, so I really don't care. I'll just be sure to use it and then he can't complain.
For by grace you have been saved by faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Eph 2:8-9

My facvorite features on my kitchten scale:
The cover on the weighing area comes off for easy cleaning.
The scale can be manually reset to zero when there is something on it, like an empty bowl that I am about to pur pasta into.
Mine sounds just like Jaime's.
