Back to the Beach- Phase 1/Day 6!

HI Everyone,


I'm an old south beacher returned! I started last Wed & hope to lose the 15 pounds (maybe 20) that I gained this past year! It's wonderful finding a place in your life when you can say your truly "content"and I finally found it, and an amazing boyfriend of 1 year tomorrow!


We've enjoyed our year thats for sure & now it's time for both of us to get this weight gain under control because we could do so much MORE damage with the way we enjoy comfort foods & eating out etc! So....he decided to stick it out with me last weekend! But we also were CHALLENGED! We had a family dinner out at the Cheesecake Factory lastnight and supported eachother in the GOOD CHOICES! I'm proud of us - we did well! It was NOT EASY!


Now, I intended on following phase 1 for maybe 2 or 3 weeks because I think I'm a carbohlic & coffee-holic! But. my boyfriend & I are finally treating ourselves to a little romantic weekend getaway for Valentines Day! WHo knows it could be an Engagment!! :) Is it reasonable for me to say that I will strictly abide by SBD from last wed until this friday (10 days) and when we go away I will allow myself to eat but not go NUTS and overindulge the entire weekend? Or will this totally destroy the previous 10 days? If I come back and hop back into phase one again....and do it another week would it be a terrible problem?? Lets face it..would be tough to be away and treat ourselves but pass up all the things we enjoy? I woud love to be able to sip a little wine or have a drink by the fire at our hotel?? Maybe we can SHARE a lower calorie sweet treat instead of getting one EACH!


What are your thoughts & any advice would be GREAT!


I've been doing GREAT with eating, heres an example of someof the things I've eaten the past few days:


Breakfast: 1 hard boiled egg & a glass of v8 or a veggie omlette w/egg beaters & maybe turkey bacon or sausage. I did try the SBD like french toast  recipe...wasn't bad!


on the way to work I grab a coffee with 1/2 & 1/2 and one splenda (I usually go Xtra to cream & sugar 3x a day!) 


lunch: left over baked pesto chicken from dinner the night before, or turkey & cheese wrapped up. 


snack: hard boiled egg or  turkey with cheese wrapped with a touch of pesto, or celery sticks with a little hummus


dinner: I tried the taco meatball recipe, or baked chicken with a salad & approved dressing sparingly! I eat my veggies too broccoli, or another salad.


I have many of the recipes to try (tried the stuff mushrooms recipe with laughing cow cheese- yummy)


For a sweet treat I do a ricotta cream mixture, or a tsp of sugar free peanut butter or I use my dairy 1 cup of fat free milk warmed with baking cocoa & a splenda (soothes my coffee urges at night) or a sugar free fudgsicle.


Hows this sound so far? I started at 160 last wed. I'm about 157 now AND have my monthly visitor too!!  THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
