I am in love with green smoothies!

Love them! I tired making one last night using a leaf of kale, a leaf of collard green, 1 banana and 1 apple and 1 c. soy milk and it was pretty gross! It was super thick and tasted the way freshly mowed lawn smells. So after reading some more I decided to do 2 cups of water, 1 banana, 1 apple and 1/2 as much collard green, no kale and it was yummy! Kale is super strong flavored and overpowered everything so if I use it again it will be in a smaller amount. It tasted more fruity, and was apple sauce texture but not too thick. But the best part was how it made me feel I had so much energy! I was volunteering at a Lions Club pancake festival today so I was on my feet busy for 5 hours and I wasn't hungry at all. I drank the smoothie around 10:30 and by the time I got in at 4 I was hungry, but not starving. Also, I read a lot saying they help reduce cravings for sweets but I can't really tell if they do or not because the south beach WOE does the same and I haven't been too interested in junk for a while now, I was around pancakes all day and I had no desire to have one.

Anyway...the point to all this is Green smoothies are awesome and everyone should give them a try!

I've been hearing Katy rave about these too.

Just be careful that they only use fresh items and no juices or powders that might be full of sugars that you don't want.

Ugg. We tried them on the advice (and recipe) of a nutritionist and they were horrible. Grass-just like you described. Maybe we'll try them again with your recipe. :)

I've just been adding spinach leaves to my normal smoothies all week, and so far they've all been good.

You should try it! I like mine super cold and not too thick so I sometimes add extra water. But the benefits are amazing my skin has gotten super soft!

Very interesting about your skin, did you previously have dry or rough skin?

Not dry or rough but very oil and acne prone. It's probably about 90% less oily and it has a soft velvety texture. My mom, who is 52 and has good skin to begin with, said hers felt noticeably softer and smoother too.
