Super Saturday Phase 2 Check In
| Sat, 07-17-2004 - 7:19am |
Good Morning!
I am up so early since I had to give dk Misha her pill. It was a struggle, but it finally went down. What fun plans does everyone have today? How many of you are doing housework (not so fun) like me? LOL
I will come back in a couple hours (when I'm more awake) to update my menu (I think I'm going to lay back down for a bit). I just wanted to get this started for those who are up early. :-)
Talk to you soon!

Suzy, the "one eye shut" icon is the best I could do for you. Glad you went back to bed, but kudos for starting our post so early on a Saturday morning!
Today, my exercise will be vaccuuming and swimming and maybe walking. dh is feeling very very tired (I think it's the therapy) so don't know if he'll be up for a walk. I'm hoping we can just relax by the pool and then hopefully go to see Spiderman II for a night out. I'm quite sad that the cicadas have already started -- they're supposed to wait for August. To me, they are the first signs of the end of summer, and that always makes me sad!
Here's what I'm planning:
breakfast: fried eggs with tomatoes, turkey bacon, toast w/ SF jam, tom juice, coffee
snack: I'd like to try Jen's FF yogurt-Uncle-Sam-blueberries-walnuts combo
lunch: tossed salad (our latest discovery is the Salade Armande from the SBD book!) with leftover turkey burger
snack: don't know yet -- maybe a peach w/ cottage cheese
dinner: chicken with mushrooms, pureed cauliflower, summer squash, banana ricotta creme
Have a lovely day, everyone!
Rebecca
I did get back to bed until about 8:40....Dh was getting ready for work and I couldn't continue sleeping. Misha was so funny laying on the bed and then suddenly getting a burst of energy and running around the house and then jumping back on the bed. LOL I enjoyed your icon :-)
Sorry your dh is so tired. I'm sure the therapy can do that to a person. How is his pain? I hope you can go see Spiderman 2 tonight. You'll both enjoy it!
Darn those cicadas! We aren't ready for autumn yet, are we? I love autumn, but I still want to enjoy summer. Winter lasts too long and I don't want it here too soon.
I am thinking of eggbeater omlette w/sauteed mushrooms & red bell peppers for breakfast. I will maybe have either toast w/ sf jam or a small serving of fruit & of course coffee.
I'm too late for a snack.....
Lunch: baked salmon & asparagus w/ glass of milk (gotta remember my dairy!)
Snack: lite Laughing Cow cheese w/ an apple
Dinner: Depends on dh. I will look in the SB cookbook for inspiration and report back.
Snack: sf ff pudding
Your menu looks totally delicious! Your dinner looks especially enticing. :-)
Enjoy your time by the pool and have a great night out with dh!
Hugs,
Suzy

Well, we're back from the pool. As predicted my darling h is too tired to go out anywhere. It's supposed to rain tomorrow and he's agreed to Spiderman then -- so I'll have to leap at the chance early enough in the day before he crashes!
Our picnic was nice at the pool. I had grilled some eggplant last night (with the balsamic vinaigrette) and stored leftovers last night in the fridge with the extra vinaigrette. It was so good cold today, that I think that's how we'll have it from now on. I made a dessert of FF yogurt, blueberries, strawberries & a sliced peach with some Splenda and cinnamon, and it was good too.
So I don't feel like going to the store for mushrooms, so I'll make chicken with lemon & smart balance & basil from the garden, I think. Maybe there's a good movie on TV tonight!
Talk to you later!
Your SBD friend in NJ
I'm sorry dh is so tired, but it does sound like you enjoyed your picnic by the pool! Hopefully you will make it to the movie tomorrow. I'm waiting for dh to get home so we can go see I Robot.
Did you see Jersey Girl? (Since that's your neck of the woods) That was a good movie...I am biased since I like Kevin Smith movies. LOL
That eggplant sounded very good. :-)
Dh just got home with my belated anniversary gift he'd gotten on e-bay. It was custom made....20 tiles with a beautiful glazed painting of some penguins. I will wait till we have our dream home to have them installed. :-)
Hope you find something nice to watch tonight! We're heading out.....
Hugs,
Suzy
I had a much better day today as far as my choices (see my "UGH" post if you didn't already!). Again, wasn't perfect but much better. I had:
B: two eggs with ham and cheddar cheese, coffee w/milk
S: none because we were out getting my baby son his first haircut! But we had an early lunch.
L: Steak caesar salad at Applebee's with no croutons, and tomatoes added. Also swiped a few of the kids fries (oops!)
S: ham and cheese rollup
D: homeade fried chicken and a salad with tomatoes, plus lettuce and cucumbers from our very own garden.
S: more chocolate pudding, but this time ONE bowl. I need to prove to myself that I can have a reasonable serving size. LOL
Exercise: DH was out of town this week, so I got to the gym today for the first time since Tuesday. I did 25 minutes on the elliptical trainer, plus about 45 minutes of weight training. So I think I made up for those fries at lunch time. ;-)
Have a good night ladies! I'm jealous of you all going out to see movies. I haven't seen a movie in the theater since the LOTR Return of the King was out in the winter. SIGH....
~Leslie
Don't be jealous. I'm home and going nowhere tonight!
Sounds like you had a good day. How old is your baby?
Rebecca
My "baby" is 18 months old. He was long over due for a haircut, too. His big sis is 3 1/2. They keep me very busy, to say the least. Thankfully, my husband usually does the bedtime routine, so it gives me some time to kill on the boards.
Leslie
I would love for the reason that I'm home on a Saturday night to be putting my babies to bed. See, I'm jealous of you!
Yes, I think at 18 months your baby must have needed a good haircut LOL!
My dh is asleep already -- his back surgery was on 6/29 and he has no strength by 8:30. If we go to the movies tomorrow, it will be a matinee!
Nice talking with you!
Rebecca
