Wet-n-Wild Wednesday Phase 2 Check In

Good Morning Everyone!
I actually know what day it is! LOL It's sunny and mild here today.
Dh's aunt & uncle from Kansas City are driving me nuts. They want to come up Monday during his surgery. I know they care, but I don't want to have to deal with visitors and care for dh too. It has me all stressed....sigh.
Here's my menu for now....
Breakfast: usual Canadian bacon & also some deli ham w/ 2% cheese, coffee
Snack: mozz stick
Lunch: chicken breast w/ green beans
Snack: another mozz stick (I should have planned today better)
Dinner: leftover pork chop & veggies & milk
Snack: fudgesicle or ff sf pudding
Have a wonderful day everyone! I'll try to pop in when I get a chance :-)
Good luck on P1 Rebecca!
Hugs to everyone!
Suzy

Morning Tea!
Looks good to me.
Suzy, give the aunt & uncle the name & number of several hotels close to the hospital so that they can be close by to your dh (and out of your hair). You will be too tired/stressed to think about cleaning & entertaining. On the positive side, let them take you out that night to dinner. Your dh will want to sleep. You'll be grateful for not having to think about cooking & cleaning up when you get home. That way you can spend the time at your dh's side in the hospital. I believe the aunt & uncle will only be allowed to visit during normal visiting hours, but you as the wife will be allowed to stay all day. Why not call the hospital today to find out the policy? Also, please let me know what time the operation is so I can pray. . .I'm sure it will go well.
I'm down another pound today! A new low since we started SBD. Woo-hoo!!!
Here's our day:
Breakfast: omelet with cheddar cheese & chives; tom juice; turkey bacon; coffee
Snack: cheese stick, I believe
Lunch: turkey chili, green salad
Snack: PB yogurt (my new discovery! I finally broke down & tried it!)
Dinner: Chicken Capri (will roll up breast stuffed with ricotta, as a poster suggested), Green Beans; fudgicle for dessert
Have a great day, everyone. Tricia, thinking of you in the 90's there today! Whew! Except for Florida & Houston, you're the hottest spot in the country today!
Rebecca
Morning Rebecca!
Thank you for the wonderful suggestions.
Ok, scratch the dinner idea then! Maybe put something in the crockpot for you to enjoy alone when you get home. You'll be very tired and won't want to cook. I think if you call the hospital, you can find out when the a&u can be there -- I don't think they get the same privileges as the spouse. Then you can be with him all day (until he goes into OR, and from the moment he gets to his room) and leave when a&u arrive. You'll be tired, and he will want to sleep also. I ended up being at dh's side until just before he went into OR, then from the moment he got to his room (at noon) till 7 or 8 p.m. (can't remember) when he wanted to sleep. I think most hospitals allow visitors from 6 to 8, or something like that. My dh was able to call me from his cell phone, so we talked on my way home and in the morning when he woke up. Maybe the a&u can be at your house after the surgery during the day when you're at work, so they can cater to your dh, who will want to be lying in bed for the first few days. Hope that helps you!
The PB yogurt is surprisingly good. Our fridge is low on stock, so that's all I had for a snack yesterday and I took the plunge. I use Dannon No Fat Plain (I buy the big tub of it), and added some vanilla, a packet of equal, and a generous spoon of PB. It's really good, and satisfying. Even my dh (who as you know detests PB) tried it and admitted it was good.
Yes, my dh is less sore now. His incision is healing nicely. We walked every day on our mini-vacation. He's at therapy now. It's just a lot of stretching for him. I'm sure your dh will do fine also.
Talk to you later!

This week is going well. My weight loss has slowed a little bit, or I am just jumping on the scale expecting miracles. This week I am the SBD advocate because everyone wants to know why I look so good! I think I have recruited at least 3 people in two days!
I need to eat more veggies but I am broke and don't have money for food until Friday :(.
B: Whole Wheat English Muffin w/Peanut Butter
S: 4 oz Strawberry sugar free yogurt
L: Chicken Salad on 1/2 pita, cucumbers
S: Hard boiled egg
D: Chicken Adobo, green beans, salad
Good Wednesday to all! I'm excited that I've dropped another pound and it's a whole pound not .8 or something. So now I've lost 22 pounds. I have so much to lose so I make my goals at 10 pound increments so it doesn't seem overwhelming or that it's going to take forever.
I'm busy at work today but I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open. They want to close. It's going to be hot again here today but relief is on the way. It's supposed to be in the mid-70's this weekend. Yeah.
Suzy, sorry you are feeling stressed. You have to tell them how you feel as hard as it is. You should tell them that during the surgery is not a good time to visit and that you will keep them posted.

I have to agree with your advice to Suzy. Suzy, I think you should tell them that right now is not the best time to visit, but why don't they visit when you have to go back to work and he is still at home on his back recovering. (That would only work if you're planning to take some time off after his surgery. . .) I think Tricia should write a script for you! Then all you have to do is read from the script when you call them. That's the only way I can succeed with those really hard phone calls!
Tricia, do you live near the beach? I keep thinking that because of that photo of you. If you do, I would go for a walk on the beach! If I lived near you, I'd go with you!
Your menu looks good today. I agree with you about yogurt + blueberries. It's also great for breakfast (and then you can add some Uncle Sam to feel even more virtuous). I can't have that for a while since we're trying Phase 1 again. (It's hard to figure out how to make our eating P1, except I know, no cereal or fruit or pasta or bread or rice or wine!)
Hope it cools off soon for you. I'm just hoping for some blue sky again sometime soon!
Rebecca
Good luck with your dh's family, Suzy. I'm sure they think they're helping, but they're just going about it the wrong way.....
I'm really excited right now-I'm also on the Getting fit in your 20's board, and we have an August challenge to lose 10 lbs. This way I can be 15 lbs down by the time my school starts up again, which is exactly what I want! So I'm on P1 until Aug 8, and then am really really going to watch my P2 so it doesn't get out of hand :)
By the way, where did Jennifer (bakedtofu) go? I haven't seen a post from her forever!
Anyway, here's today
B: ff yogurt with vanilla and splenda
S: celery and pb
L: salad with pecans, ham, feta, balsamic and oo
S: celery and hummus, nf latte
D: chicken and asparagus in balsamic vinegar, spinach with feta
S: fudgesicle with pb
Have a great day everyone!
Stella
