For Tempting Tuesday, how about sharing your favorite SBD food of the week? If you're anthing like me, your tastes change as you get bored of old favorites and move on to new ones. I just got the SBD cookbook and LOVE it! I'll post a great recipe from there below. But my favorite snack is peanut butter yogurt w/either strawberries or bananas in it, and a few crushed peanuts on top. This has replaced my nightly ice cream, and I am loving it. (Which I think is rather pitiful that I'm loving a FF yogurt for a treat! LOL)

Anyhow, Suzy, I hope your husband is feeling well today! Back surgery is always scary. Any surgery is scary, I guess, but spinal and brain surgery are probably the top two worriers! Hope he feels MUCH better now that they freed up that poor nerve. OUCH!!

Tricia - I must've missed these famous pancakes! Can you point me to the recipe?

I'll share yesterday and today's menus since I'm trying very hard to be good:

MON:

B: 2 hardboiled eggs, 1 slice of ham, coffee w/milk

S: cheese stick

L: big salad with veggies, turkey and HB egg, and shredded cheese. Ranch dressing (>1 g of sugar... that's ok, right?)

S: nothing

D: turkey sandwich with lots of veggies on WW pita, mayo and mustard

S: PB yogurt w/banana

Exercise: 30 minutes weights, 20 min hard workout on elliptical

TUE:

B: 3 stalks celery with smoked salmon spread, coffee w/milk

S:

L: big salad again

S:

D:

S:

I'll fill in the rest later. I'm determined to lose 2 lbs by the end of the week. LOL. Have a great day ladies!

Hi all. I'm having a hard week b/c I'm really busy and just haven't had the time or energy to meal plan, shop, and cook. I don't know that I have a favorite SB food of the moment, though I am loving the Trader Joe's FF Greek yogurt - it is so rich and creamy and mellow tasting, it's great w/splenda and fruit or plain w/tomatoes and cukes. Anyway, here's today:

B: 2 eggs, turkey sausage, melon, V-8, coffee

S: ? May skip b/c I'm still full from breakfast

L: Leftover grilled trout on greens w/artichoke pesto

S: celery w/peanut butter, glass of milk

D: crock pot pork tenderloin, steamed broccoli, barley risotto

S: Not sure yet, either fudgicle or fruit w/yogurt.

Have a good one ladies!

Well my favorite sbd friendly food right now is….plain ff yogurt w/ splenda and vanilla mixed w/ blueberries and Kashi go lean cereal. Very yummy. Isn’t it weird how your tastes change. Before I was eating pb and tortillas like they were going out of style and now I haven’t had any in 2 weeks.

Hey Everyone!

I have a question about pb/yogurt. I've tried it, and I know the recipe, but doesn't anyone else find it very tart? I add splenda, and it's still tart and makes the pb taste funny-not even like pb anymore, you know? Oh well-maybe that's just not the snack for me. I get the low-carb yogurt from light'n fit when I want yogurt.

I'm hoping to lose 2 lbs this week too! I hope it happens-I'm eating phase 1 this week again, although I can't wait to put some cereal and fruit in my yogurt! ;)

Here's today

B: eggbeaters with spinach and feta

S: pb and celery

L: salad with ham, feta, light caesar dressing, sf jello

S: eggsalad made with hummus and celery, nf latte

D: chicken with salsa, green pepper, onion, black beans, brocolli, lf cheddar

S: fudgesicle with pb

I guess my fav food is still celery and pb, as well as fudgesicle and pb. I've had it almost everyday this summer! Sooooo yummy ;)

You know I find that adding a little vanilla extract helps with the tartness. Try it and see what you think.

Hey Maryann - You might want to incorporate more protein for a day or two. The yogurts, fruits, and salads with little fat or protein added don't seem to compensate hunger and craving-wise for me. Remember that milk and dairy do have sugars in them, even if it's the healthy kind. You're not getting any protein to speak up until your lonely little egg at lunch time, and then not much after that either. :)

In any other circumstance your menu looks great, but I know for me it wouldn't quite cut it after a disastrous day! LOL :) Just my two cents.

Congrats on your 1 year anniversary! We are almost in the same boat, I'm just 6 lbs away from my 50# goal, and it seems to be painfully slow, and sometimes the wrong direction lately!

Stella - how much Splenda do you put in? I use one packet, but I know some of the ladies use two. Maybe you're not using as much PB as I am either.... LOL.

Good Afternoon Friends!

Thank you sooo much Leslie for the wonderful post today! It's so good hearing from you again and I think it's a fabulous idea asking for favorite SB food. I have to start using my cookbook so I can have something good to report. Now I just can't think of a favorite. I am going to try the PB Yogurt for the first time, though, since it's getting rave reviews!

Dh's leg pain is pretty much gone....YIPPEE!!!! He, like Rebecca's dh, has pain around the incision site, but I'm sure that will pass over time. He's been up walking a wee bit around the house, but otherwise he's in bed with me taking care of him. I just got back from grocery shopping.

DK Misha has been a sweetie and has slept next to dh to keep him company while I'm doing housework.

I just had eggbeaters and v-8 for brunch, and I'm planning to make dh pork loin chops for dinner. He had me pick him up a pizza for lunch....I think it'll be harder to get him to do SB than I thought. LOL

Thanks again for all your thoughts & prayers,

Suzy
