Saying hello and looking for answers

Hello, I am new to this board. I have been on the SBD for about a month now. I lost 8 lbs. in P1 and am struggling a bit in P2 because the weight stopped coming off and I am not cheating. I don’t actually consider this a diet, I consider it a life long way of eating. I have always had a slow metabolism. In the last few years I have lost weight sort of naturally. I was not an unhealthy eater pre- SB, but I have been battling my weight my entire life. I am moderately overweight and don’t actually know what it feels like to be considered in the normal weight range for my height. I am a little afraid that it isn’t possible to dip into that range, but I am sticking with the SBD because I know it is making my insides happy. I want to lose 20 more pounds. Any advice?

I have a ton of questions and would love answers. I have found this message board to be so inspiring and helpful. What a great support system!! I am so proud of everyone :)

Questions:

1. I have just started alternating walking and pilates, is this a good routine? How many times a week is necessary for results?

2. What is the best yogurt to buy, I can’t find sugar-free, and and advice on how to make fat free plain yogurt taste good?

3. Can I have dried cherries, or is this considered an avoid?

4. When it says limited or very limited, what does that mean? Like, once a week, once a month…?

5. How many prunes is too many in the day, I love fiber and bran and all that stuff, prunes are like candy to me and sometimes I feel like I’m cheating when I eat them. I have been eating between 4-8 throughout the day.

6. I’ve discovered Roasted Chickpeas! (so good) I think I have gone a little over board, they shrink down so small and a serving seems like nothing. I am also eating hummus, I think I am on my way to becoming a chickpea! How much is too much? Are chickpeas a better choice than nuts? I like nuts a little too much!

7. Where do I find Uncle Sam cereal?

8. Is it necessary to eat vegetables in the morning and does Bloody Mary mix count as a vegetable juice?

9. If you are planning to have a non-SBD meal, can you prepare for it in the day? Like, eating less, or not eating certain things?

10. Any thoughts on crunchy snacks besides nuts or chickpeas?

11. How much water should I get a day?

12. Any thoughts on low-fat cheeses that actually taste good? I like the laughing cow and string cheese, but I have trouble with the others.

Thanks for the support everyone!! Keep up the good work!!

wow, thank you so much maggie!! That was an extremely generous answer and I appreciate it so much!!

I do try to eat a lot of veggies in the day but they don't usually start until my morning snack and sometimes they start at lunch. I probably range in the 3-5 cups a day range of veggies.

oh, and what about dried cherries? are they okay?

I will try to get the stats on the bloody mary mix, I haven't actually had any, but it has a lot of flavor, I like V8, but I think it needs a kick, I was thinking I would put some worsteshire sause in it or something.

Again, thanks for all the help, this site really is keeping me motivated!

You could definitely add worchestire sauce and any spices you like!
