slow progress--afraid to add in P2 foods

I am starting week 7 on SBD and my progress has been very slow. I have lost 7.5 lbs total. On P2 I have generally added one serving of fruit per day. I think I have had two sevings (total over 5 weeks) of approved cereal. I'm afraid that adding in more options will slow my progress even more. I'm starting to get discoraged and bored with what I'm eating--I have started working out more and still haven't seen any improvement. I want to continue on SBD--I really do feel better--but It's difficult when I didn't have the big first two week weight loss (I only dropped 4 lbs in P1) and now the scale still isn't moving much. Anyone experience similar problems or have ideas on how to add back foods without putting the lbs back on?

I have also stalled in the last three weeks, I have been doing SB for 12 weeks. I have been trying to reevaluate what I have been eating. I have noticed that as I have become comfortable in phase 2, I am not eating as many of my vegetable servings as I should. I am hopping that by increasing the vegies again the weight will start to drop. I am also going to kept track of what I eat each day, to see if that will help to pinpoint what is causing my stall.

I have not been exercising regularly beyond doing a variety of sit-ups in the morning. I am going to try to add cardio exercises. Hopefully this will also help.

Good luck.

I actually find that I lose more when I eat more P2 foods - at least three servings a day(either one starch and two fruits or vice versa). When I stray back into eating more P1-only foods, or don't eat enough veggies, my weight loss slows (I've lost approx 31 pounds in 5 months).

Your weight loss looks great to me. I don't know how much you have to lose, but if it isn't a lot, you are making great progress. I know it feels slow at times, but remind yourself that you are moving in the right direction, and slower weight loss is actually healthier for you.

I bet that adding more variety and P2 foods will jumpstart your loss, and will also help keep you going.

Good luck,

Ellie
