Starting 2nd week Phase 2

I'm starting the 2nd week of Phase 2 and had my weigh in today. I have not lost anything since the 3rd day of Phase 1, which I lost 6 lbs. and that's all. I try to walk 2-3 miles every day and lift weights at least 3 x a week. The only thing I've changed in Phase 2 from 1 is that I added a piece of whole wheat toast with my egg for breakfast. Could this be my age? I'm in my 50's. I don't think I've lost any inches because my jeans feel the same.

I guess I just have to stick with it? Dottie

Hi Dottie-

You don't say how much you are trying to lose. If it is only a small amount, it seems to hold on harder.

Have you tried writing down what you are eating? I find when my weight isn't dropping, I am eating more than I need too(prevents me from grabbing an extra hand full of nuts). Or that I am not getting in my vegetable servings and that seems to make a difference. I have also pulled out my WW point guides and will calculate the points I am eating in a day. Just to make sure I am eating because I am hungry and not bored.

You might post one of your daily menus and the other members and CL's might be able to see something that is causing this stall. Keep up the good work with your exercising.

Good luck,

Kathy

Hi Dottie,

It's very common for many that in the first couple of weeks of Phase 2, the weight loss (on the scale, at least) appears to slow down a lot or stop.

Hi Dottie,

I can completely identify with you. I lost 4 pounds during the first week of P1 and then nothing. With the help and support of the people on this board, I stuck with the program and broke through the temptation of quitting or staying in P1. I moved on to P2 and while my progress has been slow, I'm closing in on 10 lbs lost after 9 weeks (including those original 4 from week 1). I made my decision by asking myself two questions: Do you feel better now that you're on the SBD (yes) and Are you committed to this program for the long-haul and not just a quick fix (yes, again). It hasn't been easy when others lose 10 pounds during the first two weeks and I'm still plugging away to get there. But it is working. I feel better, my clothes are starting to fit better and I know that this is a way to be healthier as well as lose weight.

Hang in there it may take you a little longer than some others, but the program does work!

HI Dottie

I am also in my 50's and when I first switched over to phase 2 I didn't loose anything at all for two weeks. It finally began to come off again after that but every once in a while I will stick for a couple of weeks and really have to just hang in there until at last it will begin to come off again. I usually find I am eating too many nuts when this happens.

Hang in there it will happen.

Hugs

Mary

Thank you girls for your encouraging support. My starting weight was 156/150/130. I'd like to lose 20 more lbs. I'm 5'7 so it's not alot but it seems to be around my middle.

Today's menu:

I eat bk rather late because I like to exercise first thing: Sauteed spinach with a scrambled egg with some mozz. cheese on top, whole wheat toast, V8 juice and coffee

No mid morning snack

Lunch: Turkey with mustard wrapped in romaine lettuce/small amt. of cottage cheese, water

Afternoon: 1/2 C. ff yogurt mixed with ff/sf choc. pudding

Dinner: A pork chop, sml head of broccoli with small salad/ranch dressing, 1 c. skim milk

I may be overdoing the peanuts, sometimes I have about 1/4 c. watching TV in evening.

I know I'm eating healthier, so the will-power's got to kick in.

Thanks again girls, with your help I'm going to make it. Dottie
