I lost 10 lbs. during P1 - hooray! About 3 days before entering P2 I stopped losing. Haven't lost anything in 2+ weeks. I followed the suggestions on the site for getting things rolling again, added exercise - no change, changed carbs - no change, added milk, stopped milk, milked a cow....no change!
My partner tries really hard to be supportive, she's still losing and we're eating the same things. In fact, she's a couch potato/computer geek that hardly moves and she's still losing! I don't think I'm even losing inches - clothes don't feel any different.
So today (in secret) I inhaled cookies and washed them down with a ton of greasy popcorn. I knew that I'd feel icky afterwards (which I do), but I ate my anger with this stall instead of asking for help.
So here I am, Pepto-Bismol in hand and greasy fingers flying on my keyboard. I haven't been to the gym, I've stopped looking for SBD Thanksgiving alternatives and I think I'm on the edge of diet oblivion.
I need wise counsel - or maybe just a swift kick - you decide. Anything will be better than this tizzy I've gotten myself into!
Thanks for letting me blow.
Betty

ps: hope the cookies and the popcorn were good at least ! :)
Hi Betty,
Just give it some time.
I know that when you're working so hard to lose and you're not seeing results, it's incredibly frustrating. But think of it this way...in 4 weeks you have lost 10 pounds. 10 POUNDS! That's fantastic and far more than a "typical loss". I know enough about dieting (lord knows I have been on enough of them over the years) to know that you cannot lose 10 pounds of fat in two weeks--so what you lost during P1 was a combination of fat and water. Some of the water comes back over time, but the objective is to make sure the fat stays off. So while you may not have seen the scale go down in the past two weeks, some of that water has come back but your weight hasn't gone up. That's a good thing. It means that 10 pounds you lost is real. Each person's body adjusts in it's own way. Your body is adjusting and you need to give it time. I know it's hard but we have to be realisitic--we didn't put on this weight over night and it's not going to come off overnight either. Hang in there--you can do it.
(((BIG HUGS))) Betty!
Hi Betty,
First of all...no self-kicking allowed, okay? :)
((((HUGS)))) back to all of you............BTW Maggie, I loved the line, "The journey of a thousand miles starts with a smidgen" :) .........typed it up and put it on my PC monitor.
