Member Question: The Dove Promise dark chocolates are only 42 calories each. They do contain sugar, but other "sweet treats" (incl. candy w/sugar alcohols) don't interest me. I've been having 2 a day in Phase 2 for months without cravings.

Dr. Agatston: From one chocoholic to another, enjoy. Remember, the main point of the diet is to get rid of cravings. If you aren't having cravings, you've made a good choice.

Dr. Agatston: In addition, chocolate has many antioxidants which are helpful. In addition, the fatty acid, stearic acid, does not raise cholesterol levels.

Maggie,

Thanks so much for "sacrificing" yourself for the cause. :-) FYI, if you have a Trader Joe's nearby, they sell Belgian dark chocolate bars in three packs that are to die for. Some of the best chocolate I've ever had, and I've had a lot of good chocolate in my day. :-) I don't have any in the house now to give the nutritional info, but DH and I frequently split a bar, which is very satisfying, with no ill effects as far as cravings or weight loss.

You know I *read* it... but I guess it went out as fast as it went in (or more likely I got excited about the next thing I read, and this quickly became a memory I'd forgotten).
