Good Morning Everyone!
It's a marvelous Monday because I'm not at work. LOL! How was your holiday weekend? I don't know who is around this week but please stop by and say hello. What are your plans today, or this week? Do you have NY Eve plans?
I do not know what I'm eating today yet...I'm just relaxing with Gracie still. :-)
I will check back soon...
Hugs & stay warm!

Mornin' Suzy!
Morning everyone! I missed you guys this weekend :)
We had a nice Christmas weekend. In fact, I am still at my parents house, visiting with family. I'm using my brother's nifty cool laptop computer. Starting the 23rd, I started allowing myself holiday treats. I kept SBD in the back of my mind, but didn't listen very well. LOL. Anyhow, as of yesterday, I'm back on track. My only splurges have been in the cheese department, which probably won't help as far as scale is concerned, but at least I'm staying away from sweets. Since I'm not at home, the choices are a little more difficutl. My primary goal is to stay away from the sweets and white flour products, and if I can do that until i get home, I'll be fine with that.
Last night I was particularly proud of myself for resisting the potato chips we put out for a late night snack. I chose to have cut up veggies with dip instead of the chips. The dip probably wasn't "legal", but it wasn't terrible either. It was low fat sour cream with the dry onion soup mix added.
Here is my potential menu for today:
B: 2 eggs, 2 links of sausage (!), 1 slice of whole wheat toast with a teeny bit of butter, and coffee with milk
S: Umm... since it's 11:30 and I'll have lunch soon, I don't think a snack is going to happen
L: I think a big salad with some leftover lunchmeat on top, plus a homeade vinaigrette
S: if we make it home by 4:00, I'll have a yogurt w/splenda. Otherwise, some celery w/dip
D; Not a clue. I haven't been home in 3 days so I don't even know what we have. If we go out, I'll get a grilled chicken salad or something healthy.
I'm curious to see what your experience is with this... how long does it take the scale to show a few days of overeating for you? For me, if I get on the scale the next day, I'm usually pleasantly suprised. And by the time the scale shows anything, I've almost forgotten my sins.... LOL. So I would expect my three days of bad eating to show up maybe in another day or two.
Anyhow, here's to getting back on track! it's nice to see you all again :)
Leslie
Morning ladies!
I don't have much time right now but wanted to pop in at least.
Glad it sounds like everyone had a good Christmas.
Good Afternoon Bets!
I loved your post! I can just imagine the post-Christmas carnage. Giggle! Its sounds like you did quite well and still managed to lose. Congratulations! :-) You are an inspiration! I am so looking forward to eating healthy and exercising regularly this next year. I just know 2005 has to be better than 2004 was for me. (There were too many health problems for my parents, dh, cats, etc.)
Your menu today sounds very good and SB friendly. I have only had cereal and coffee thus far (I promise I'll get back on track tomorrow). I am going to be so busy tomorrow. I have annual exams, vet appointments, another job interview, and a hair appt all on one day! LOL! Talk about stress! ;-)
I think my NY Eve may be as relaxing as yours....giggle! That's all we did Christmas day was watch DVDs until it was time to make dinner and transport it over to my parents' house.
Sounds like you got some good books. I love reading too. I wish I didn't work full-time so I could read more. I love mysteries. I bet that Italian charm bracelet is beautiful!
I hope to talk to you again here soon! Its' so nice having new people stop by! :-)
Hello Leslie!
I'm glad you had such a nice holiday weekend! I am very proud of you for choosing the veggies & dip over the chips last night! :-)
I am one of the unlucky ones who shows weight gain at the drop of a hat. If I eat too much one day it'll show on the scale the next. I'm with you.....Here's to getting back on track and to a successful 2005!
We will meet our goals, I just know it! Have a safe trip back home.
Hugs,
Oh Leslie, those potato chips must have been everywhere tempting us all!!
Oh Sara, I'm so sorry you and your dh aren't feeling well. I pray it's not the flu because that sure can hit you as you described. Please try to get some rest. I wish I could wrap dd's presents for you. I'm sending healing thoughts & prayers your way.
((((Hugs))))
Happy Monday. What a weekend, what a week.
I ate all of my chocolate that I received so I don't have anymore in the house starting this week. Would make more sense to just throw it out but it was my favorite chocolate and a present, so I ate it.
DD is on Christmas break so we are heading to the gym to go swimming and then I'm going to work out while she's in the daycare. I got a new MP3 player so I'm going to try the Elliptical trainer and jam out to music. When I used to do the shake diet through the hospital we had to get 2,000 calories worth of exercise a week. I used to do the elliptical for 45 minutes. Now I'm just beginning...again.

Hi Cindy!
That cookbook does sound good....let us know if you find any good recipes to share. :-)
I bet someone was looking out for you with the cinammon rolls not turning out. LOL!
Your turkey soup sounds delicious. You can always add some chicken broth to make it more soup like.
I hope you have a wonderful afternoon!
Hugs,
