Happy New Year Phase 2 Check In!

Happy New Year to all my
friends and to all the new friends that are welcome to join in the fun here!
It's going to be a better year for me I can just feel it. I have 20 lb to lose
and I'm committed to success. For those who don't know me, I lost 60 lb in 2003
on WW and then had trouble learning how to maintain the loss. I regained 20
lb over last year and feel awful. I am starting 2005 knowing I want to eat healthy
and exercise and embrace the SB way of eating since I feel so good eating this
way and I know the research backs up the wisdom of this plan.

We were going to KC for
NY day but dh is sick. I think maybe from food poisoning from dinner at a restaurant
last night? We've postoned our trip until tomorrow. How was your NY eve celebration?
Mine was low-key. After eating out dh started feeling bad so he ended up going
to bed early. I watched tv and had a wee bit of champagne at midnight, wished
my furkids a Happy New Year, and went to sleep. LOL Exciting party girl I'm
not! LMBO!

Have a fabulous weekend
and I look forward to hearing from everyone and encouraging each other to lose
the weight for good this year. We can do it! :-)

Hi Suzy, Wishing a Happy New year and hoping you DH gets well real soon. We had a quite New Year also. My DH & I have a very bad bacerial virus, coughing & sneezing, that we caught from my DD sister-in -laws husband while we down there for the holidays. Luckly we don't feel like eating so I don't think the scale is going to be a factor.

By the way I love those tickerfactory.com rulers, tried to get one to work for this board and had no luck. What am I doing wrong???? Will post my new weeks journal tomorrow. Have a good evening. Hugs,Maryann

Hi Kristin!

It sounds like you had a fun time last night. LOL I sure hope that wasn't your dh wrestling on the lawn. LMBO!

The walk along the beach sounded beautiful! I hope your visit to your SIL today goes well.

Weird about the bamboo....makes you wonder?

I've been doing housework all day and being good diet wise. I can't let myself mess up anymore. Poor dh has a temp of 103. I may take him to the emergency room if he gets worse. I first thought food poisoning, but now I think maybe flu? (In spite of having had the flu shot).

Enjoy your afternoon!

Hi Maryann! Happy New Year!

I sure hope you & your dh get better soon. That's no fun being sick! (((Hugs)))

I just went to the tickerfactory site for the first time the other day. It configured the html for me and I just copied and pasted it into my siggy under the board settings. What did you do when you tried to use them?

Hi there friends!

We had a low key NYE. We planned a brunch party today at our house, so last night was mostly cooking and cleaning in preparation of that. I am so not into the drinking scene anymore. Too many years of being pregnant, nursing or losing weight! LOL. Our party was really fun. It was just a few of our best friends and their families. I went *sooooooo* off my good eating habits though. I allowed myself to sample just about everything at the party, and enjoyed every bite. It is coming back to haunt me now though. My tummy is objecting to something, but I ate so much I have not the first clue what it might have been. Serves me right, I suppose.

Anyhow, I am really looking forward to getting back to a regular schedule now that the holidays are over! We have family visiting with us, and it's been great, but harder to stay on track with all new temptations under my nose. We will be sad to see them go, but having my house fully under my control will probably be a good thing for my waistband. ;-)

One thing I'm dreading is going back to the gym. It's going to be a ZOO! I'll just plan to enjoy it all over again come mid-February when everyone else has gotten bored of the New Years resolution to work out more. ROFL.

Hey Suzy, sounds like we are on a similar journey with our weight loss. I'm down 50, with 15-20 lbs to go. Some of it has been WW and some has been SBD. December has given me a 3 lb gain, but I hope I can get rid of that in a couple of weeks and be right back on track.

Tricia - not sure if you're around, but I read your post about getting a new MP3 player for Xmas. So did I! I'm really looking forward to using on the elliptical trainer, too!

Hope to be around a lot more in January than I have been in December. After I get off the computer, I think I'm going to take stock of the contents of my fridge and make a menu for tomorrow.

Ugh, all the good restraint I showed over Christmas deserted me for New Years.

Please don't say it's all downhill after 30.....I'm 42! LOL The only thing I noticed after 30 was a drop in metabolism. I don't feel "old" in any other way, though. (Except forgetting things on occasion. LMBO! Then again I don't have children so that could account for having less gray hairs according to my friend Stella!) I did joke about dh going to bed early on NY eve...that he was getting old....then this morning I realized he really was sick with the flu or food poisoning. (I feel bad now. LOL!)

I hope you enjoyed at least some of the cheating (If you're going to be bad, you may as well enjoy the ride. LOL!).... though you have discovered like I did that your body often ends up feeling yucky when you eat those foods. You're doing the right thing getting back on track. I started being good today and I know it'll take about 3 months to lose what I regained last year. I am motivated to do it because I hate feeling bloated and not being able to wear my favorite clothes.

Good luck and please keep stopping by for support and motivation...we all help each other. :-)

Happy New Year!

Hi Suzy,I went to the web site, did everything that I was suppose to do but when I got to the ivillage siggy and I didn't see any where to copy and paste the tickerfactory ruler. Guess I can't use them as I can't find a siggy under my board settings. Thanks anyway Hugs Maryann
