Checkin' in for Tuesday - P2

Good Morning everyone!

Pretty quiet around the house right now.  DD is taking her nap, the dogs are snoozing & I've got the washer & dryer going.  I just finished paying bills & balancing my checkbook & am working on my meal planning for the last 2 weeks of the month.  This afternoon I'm planning to make a batch of cheeseburger quiche to freeze for breakfasts & lunches. The exciting life I lead, eh? LOL

Here is what the menu looks like for today (BTW - I love that we do this every day.  It really gives me ideas for snacks & meals!)

B: Kashi & skim milk

S: celery & LCow cheese

L: leftover Mexican Lasagna, green tea

S: small apple & PB

D: Spice Rubbed chicken fingers w/cilantro dipping sauce (from the SBD cookbook), grilled or steamed veggies and maybe 1/2 c brown rice depending on how hungry Dh is when he gets home.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Bets

I agree, this is great for accountability!

Last night didn't go so well :-( Tattoo Goo and I had a going-away party to go to at the guy's favorite bar, which did not have a single SBD-friendly item on the menu (I drove the waiter crazy, I read it three times looking for one...even the salads were loaded with bad fats and bad carbs!!!) So I settled for chicken quesadillas and a crab and spinach dip, which I'm sure had more fat in it than I'm comfortable thinking about BUT I avoided the burgers & fries and the oh-so-yummy wings they have there, and drank water instead of beer or soda. Yay me! Until I got home and had a cup of ice cream (not a full bowl, so that was good).

Today is going much better so far...stuck to the plan so far, here it is:

B: Peanuts and a cheese wedge (was running late, no time to make eggs, and cereals in the cabinet had too much sugar!)

S: Orange

L: Tossed salad, with either soup or leftover Chicken Caprese if I'm still hungry

S: Popcorn (made on the stove with canola oil)

D: 5-Spice fish over spinach greens (from the SBD cookbook), with soup or salad

I know the morning looks a little light, I usually eat a better breakfast than that!

Hi Shan,

Next time your in a tough spot like that, I would order the burger on a bed of greens with oil & vinegar dressing.

Hi Bets and Shan and everyone!

I agree, I love sharing our menus with each other. Not only does it give me good ideas, but also helps me organize my thoughts and decide what I will be eating for the day. I sometimes plan the whole week out, but when I don't this is a great way to stay focused.

Here is my 2nd day on P1-strikes-again:

B: 2 egg scramble w/ham and 3 LC light cheese bits
S: 1 cheese stick
L: leftover chili (tons of beans, tomatoes and onions -- does this count as a veggie?)
S: cucumbers with smoked salmon and cream cheese, glass of 1/2% milk
D: grilled steak and veggies (lots of veggies)
S: PB yogurt - I sure look forward to these!

How does this look for P1?

I also have a Weight Watchers weigh-in this evening, which should be interesting considering my BAD week of Christmas and New Years (they took a week off at my location). I have two more weeks of my subscription, and then I think I'll let it lapse. The meetings are at my gym, but I'm not planning to work out because I'm feeling under the weather. At most, I'll do 1 mile on the treadmill -- I still haven't tried out my new MP3 player!

Tonight is the second to last episode of "The Biggest Loser". Has anyone else been watching that?

Have a good healthy day!

Thanks Cathy!

I'll keep that in mind for normal restaurants, but I think that would have gotten me lynched last night...I was the only girl there at that point, and this was at a very manly-man's kind of bar with all the football games and stuff going on, I think if I'd asked for a burger on a bed of greens I would have gotten it served up on a Green Bay jersey (Eagles jerseys being sacrosanct around here, yuck!)
