Good morning ladies:

Looks like our usual suspects are off for the holiday today, but since I'm stuck at work I'll take this opportunity to wish you all Very Merry Un-Birthdays and see how your weekends went :-)

This was a Munchkin weekend, so it was Barbies and Cabbage Patch Kids (I haven't showed her my collection of Garbage Pail Kid cards yet, hahaha) all over the house. Only one food-related tantrum all weekend long, and I convinced her to take a nap both days, so all in all it was pretty good. I'm still not used to having toyboxes and coloring books mixed in with all of my stuff, and I keep finding Barbie shoes and My Little Ponies in my couch. It's like living in a flashback to when I was five...her favorite things out of my toybox are my Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, the CPK and the Ponies...but I have to pay the bills now, lol. Anyone else kind of freaked out by how many of these old toys and characters are coming back? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, all that stuff!

Anyway, she's back with her mom today so it's a grown-up menu at my house :-)

B: Cottage cheese w/ Equal and cinnamon

S: Apple w/ peanuts

L: Tuna & bean salad on a wgww tortilla

S: Popcorn?

D: Stuffed peppers w/ spicy Indian tomato soup

Dessert: Not sure yet...

Have a good one, everyone!

Hi Kristin!

Glad to see I'm not the only one working today (well, sort of working, I'm taking a protest holiday at my desk except for the things I REALLY have to get done, lol).

It is nice to see so many people joining us in P2, congrats girls on getting through your SBD "bootcamp"! It's much nicer and easier from here on :-)

I keep thinking I really need to get a crock-pot. I see so many good CP recipes on here, and I don't have one, so that's next on my kitchen appliances list. I'm so mad, I got a food processor for my birthday and the bowl warped the second time I put it in the dishwasher, grrrrrrr...so I returned it and replaced it, and then the bowl BROKE as I was pulling it out of the box!!!!!! And now I can't find my exchange receipt, so I have to see if they'll exchange it for me AGAIN without one.

Munchkin does make me feel old when she plays with my old toys, lol...we had a discussion a little while ago about why she could not, in fact, rename the doll I've had since I was about a year old "Britney Spears". So now I'm pretty sure she thinks that "Amanda" was named after that irritating chick who does the Amanda Show on Nickelodeon, but at least she stopped arguing about it, lol.

Anyway, take care and enjoy the easy commute home!

Hi Bets!

Congrats on the 2 pounds, that's great!

I know how you're feeling about the Rams...I live in Eagles country, unfortunately, and can't stand them so I'm annoyed that they won yesterday. TG is a major Colts fan and is highly disappointed in their performance to say the least. I was born and bred a Redskins fan, and I'm soooo disappointed over the Gibbs let-down this season, but what can you do. TG will kill me, but I'll probably have to go with the Patriots for the rest of the season now that Green Bay is out. Here's hoping the Eagles choke in the conference championship!!! (AGAIN, lol)

Hi Shan!

Your little munchkin has great taste in toys! I played with all of those things and they were among my favorite toys, especially Strawberry Short Cake.

Today I am on the second day of Phase 2. I made it to phase 2 by the skin of my teeth but I made it and I am so glad I did. I had the blueberry bran muffins for breakfast this morning and it was soooooooooooooo good! I will have to keep those in my freezer.

B: 1 Blueberry Bran Muffin and a glass of skim milk

S: 1 Cheese Stick

L: Split Pea Soup

S: Celery with Chipotle Hummus

D: Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken

Dessert: The Better then Sex Dessert SBS..........hmmmmmm we'll have to see about that....

Hi Scully,

I'm pretty much a lurker here now, but I just wanted to weigh in on the Better than Sex dessert. I think it's good, but doesn't quite live up to its name :) I might try adding some natural PB next time I make it -- it needs an extra kick, I think.

Let me know your opinion!

Hi Rebbeca,

I kind of have to agree. It was good and dh loved it! But, I think I would rather some fruit dipped in real chocolate. Or, anything with real chocolate. I wasn't tempted to go for seconds other than scraping the chocolate shavings off the top. ;)

However, I do have to say that I loved the SBD Peanut Butter cup. Have you tried that yet?

As for adding peanut butter to the better than sex dessert........that might help as well as making the crust with peanuts rather than pecans. I added splenda to my crust as well as a little salt. (Salt will bring out the sweetness in foods.)

Hope this helps.
Enjoy!
