I want chocolate

I have been doing SO good - so good.... but today - I really want a chocolate bar.

I live around the corner from a 7-11.. and I think the only thing keeping me from going to grab some is the fact that there is plenty of snow out there, it's cold...... and I am on some serious pain medication here.

So what do I do?

I need the "real" stuff too... like ummm.... a 3 musketer or an oh'Henry... sorry if I am makin' ya'll hungry... but I don't know where this is coming from all the sudden.

It's just it is my second day on Phase 2 and I don't think that I am doing as well as I though... I am thinking that maybe I am eatting too much.

here is what I ate today:

B:Shreddies with 1% milk (I know shreddies aren't SB friendly - but I only like two cereals... shreddies and raisin bran... so I figure i'd go with the ones with less sugar)
and a yogurt (I use VERY little milk on my cereal)
S: Apple and 4 cashews
L: a chicken fajita (it was yucky) and a salad - with a coffee
D: roast beef with steamed broccoli (YUM!) and a salad
Then I had another yogurt and 1/2 a cup of mango (it was probably less then that)

Is this too much? Have I been to bad??

Hi,
I'm Queenie. I am new here. I had my first full day today :) I did pretty well. I posted my success a bit too soon, because I caught myself doing what got me where I am today (50 over) stuffing a small left over bite of doughnut that was left on my toddlers plate into my mouth...EEKS! But I didn't sweat it. I had a VERY bad craving for chocolate. This is how I answered it. Homemade hot cocoa. I took one serving of milk, which I still had coming to me, unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1 1/2 packets equal. heat thoroughly on stove. YUM! Sweet tasting, chocolatey, and warm! NOW THATS COMFORT! Just thought I'd share that tip with you. Take care!

Spunky I'm guessing it's the shreddies... you are on day 2 of phase 2... too soon to stray from the foods-to-enjoy list I'm afraid.

Susan :)

Hi Spunky,

I agree with Susan that starting the morning with a non-SBD friendly cereal will kick the cravings off first thing.

It funny.... I didn't go back online after I posted that message - well i did.. but there were no responses.... and I will just confess now.. I ate chocolate - real chocolate.

And I have to agree with all of you - I added P2 food too much too soon - and I have corrected that today (1 piece of multi-grain bread and a yogurt this morning - but thats all today).

I think near the end of Phase 1 I was looking to forward to breads and fruit that I let it get the better of me. But the important thing is that I have picked myself back up and I am getting right back on track.

I am going to check the P2 cereals again - though I am not a cereal person.... and lots of them I have never heard of or seen before - like what is Uncle Sams??

Anyways..... thank you for all your support - just wanted to let you all know that I am back on track!!!!!

PS - the chocolate tasted really good - but I definitly don't need it again for a LONG time! lol

OH and out of curiosity .... my mom told me it would be ok for me to drink 1% chocolate milk.... is that true?

Actually the thing about the chocolate milk is just to get my dairy in! lol

I don't like the taste of regular milk - or soy milk (I am also lactose intolerant, I take a pill so I can drink the milk.....)

This is the nutritional information I found on the net about 1% chocolate milk:
For an 8oz glass:

200 cals
3 g fat
2 g sat fat
32 g carbs
11g protein

This isn't the kind of milk I would buy...... it was the only info I could find on the net though... just curious.

Maybe I will attempt the soy chocolate milk again - anyone know of a really good brand? I can't remember the one I tried last time.. but I wasn't a fan - weird after taste.

Thanks!

Spunky,

This seems very high in calories and fat.

(((Hugs Spunky))) I went a little overboard on my first day of Phase 2 as well. It didn't cause any huge cravings but it did make me over eat a bit I think. Also, I think it is great that you could admit that you had the chocolate and are now ready to move forward. So many times when I do something not exactly legal I'm tempted to gloss over it but I think if we do that we take the risk of denying it to ourselves as well. The important thing is to be accountable and aware. :o) Also, it is great that you are getting right back on track! I too am determined to take it MUCH more slowly today. :o)

(P.S. I tried the Uncle Sam's cereal yesterday and it wasn't bad! I had to add a few packets of Splenda but other than that it tasted a little like Total to me. The flaxseeds did get stuck in my teeth a bit though. lol I think I might try the mixed berry one next. :o))
