Remind me-scales aren't always right!!!

I weighed myself this morning and I am up about two pounds. I am on day 4 of phase two and except for a little too much SF pudding on Sunday night have been doing very well. I make sure I have a carb competitor with my snacks and oatmeal or cold cereal in the mornings but other than adding my two good carbs per day, I eat my other meals like I was in phase one. In fact I am actually using my treadmill which I haven't done in the past. I have been using it faithfully and regularly for about a week.
I know I should put the scale away and maybe weigh once a week....but it is so hard!!! Did anyone else here gain a few lbs when starting phase two?

It is normal to gain a little when you start phase two - have you read the "Starting Phase two" post? it tells you there that it is perfectly normal to gain a little are you reintroduce good carbs....
Also you have to remember that weight generally fluctuates depending on the time of day - and for us ladies, time of month.
So don't fret over a little raise in the scale numbers... what is more important is how you feel... how do your clothes fit?
that is what is most important!

Yes I have read everything about starting phase two. I guess I was hopeful I wouldn't be one of the ones who gained a little bit because I knew it would freak me out. My clothes are fitting much better. My jeans that were too tight are now comfortable! I just need to not weigh myself daily and maybe try just once a week. Thanks for your encouraging words ladies!

Hi Heather,
I'm another one that's up a couple of pounds, but I'm not getting panicky. This happened that last time and I gave up! Really kick myself now for not sticking it out, because I'm sure I would have been at my goal weight by now!!!! Don't give up!
There's a couple more things that could affect it. If you've eaten anything with a lot of sodium, that could contribute. Also, you mentioned that you have started working out. Your body tends to hold onto water as it builds muscle (Bob Greene writes about this in "Get With the Program") and muscle weighs more than fat. But, the beauty is once you start building that muscle, it will increase your fat burning ability.
You *are* doing everything right and it's only a matter of time before things turn around and the weight starts coming off!!! Stick with it!

I was just catching up with reading all the threads now and came across yours. I JUST had posted the exact same as you. WEIGHT GAIN! I started Phase 2 on Sunday and have gained approx 2-3 lbs. I was so upset. I am following closely too and really am trying to get my water in. Now that I have caught up with all my reading i do feel somewhat better that this does happen and it not only me. Lets keep our chins up and keep plugging away Heather! Keep us posted.

Heather, that's great news and a huge sign that you are doing the right things!
My typical day is:
Breakfast: Either cold cereal or oatmeal and bacon
Snack: String Cheese
Lunch: Usually leftover meat from the night before (chicken breast, steak whatever we had), veggie or salad
Snack: Apple with peanut butter
Dinner: Meat, veggie and salad
Dessert: SF Fudgecicle, Popsicle or SF Pudding
How am I doing?

Hi Heather, this basically looks very good, you are getting your two new P2 items in at good times, spaced apart, and eating a carb competitor with your apple.
