Flan

I wanted to tell you guys about this so that you know I lived to tell the tale....yes, I had a piece of flan today and I don't feel guilty. ;o)
I would have preferred that I was further into Phase 2 before attempting something like this but my neighbor showed up with some flan that she had made specifically for us and it was going to go bad if we waited to eat it. My dh said he didn't want any and I could tell it hurt her feelings a bit so I agreed that I would have a small slice. I waited until today and took it to work. My plan was to cut a very small slice for myself and then give the rest to my coworkers. For my afternoon snack I had my small slice and it was definitely good. I had a moment of regret because I wondered if this was going to throw my diet out the window but then I realized that as long as I stayed strong I would be okay. And even though the other pieces for my coworkers were calling me I had no problem handing them over to the first available persons. lol So far I'm not feeling any cravings from it but I do have a headache and I wonder if it was from that. I also plan on having an apple for dessert tonight because obviously my sweet treat calories have been used up (way up). This is my first real break from the diet and I was glad that I was the one in control of this break and not my cravings. And the best part is that I am right back into the swing of things and there is no guilt holding me back like there would be for other diets.
Just had to share and hopefully this will inspire others who break from the diet to get right back on the bandwagon! :o)

Carol,
I think you did fine.
I too fell victim to flan early in P2;0) But it didn't really reflect in the scale at all as far as I can tell. I am just over 3 months into this WOE and I have lost 34 pounds!!
I am sure as long as you stay the course and drink your water you will be fine. This plan is designed to live life and flan is part of life.
You can do it!!
Hi Carol,
I agree about the headache.
I will also agree with the sugar causing your headache. Every time I have sugar after a long break it immediatley gives me a headache. I've learned it's usually not worth it.
Congrats on making a choice to have the flan, and not be ruled by cravings. I remember my first conscience choice like that, it was a slice of key lime pie. :)
Keep up the good work!
Susan
