I did a search to see if this product had been discussed, but I couldn't find anything on the board. Del Monte has a new line of canned fruit made with Splenda. I know the fruit cocktail is not acceptable, due to the pineapples, but I think the peaches might be okay. Here are the ingredients:

Peaches, water, ascorbic acid, acesulfame potassium, sucralose.

30 calories per serving, 6 grams of sugar (I think this is just natural sugar). Please let me know about this one. If not, I'm sure my kids will be happy to eat these for me.

Here's the nutritionists response to this product:

The best choice for fruit is fresh fruit. Generally canned fruit does not have the fiber content compared to fresh fruit. Therefore would not be as good a choice as the fresh.

Thanks Cathy! I guess it will work when I run out of fresh fruit and can't make it to the store.

I keep frozen strawberries and blueberries in my freezer for my yogurt/shake things.

I think the frozen peaches are very good.
