Hump Day Wednesday Phase 2 Check In

Good Morning!

I am just now reading yesterday's posts.  Last night I took my chinchilla Gandalf to the vet because he's acting like he may have tooth pain again.  Thursday they will have him all day and put him under anesthesia and take x-rays to see what's going on with his roots, and there was a potentially loose, inflamed tooth that may be pulled.  I am bracing myself that if this is bad and if he'd need surgery every 3 months, that we'll have to probably put him to sleep since it wouldn't be much of a quality of life for him.  I am heartbroken at the thought of losing my only "little boy".  :-(

They want to rebuild my work computer and update the software probably today so I'm going to hurry & post...

B:  usual yogurt & kashi

L:  asparagus & turkey

S:  PB yogurt

D:  Unsure yet....

Have a great day and I'll catch up with you later :-)

Suzy:

I'm so sorry to hear about your "little boy" not feeling well...I hope that they can fix the problem this time so he can live out a long and happy life with you!

Maryann, I'm glad they dug you out, that's such a nice community service program to have!

Sara, have you heard anything yet about that interview? Any others in the pipeline?

Kristin, I'm so jealous it's good jogging weather out there!!! I'm counting down the days to my business trip at the end of Feb, it will be nice to be in warm sunshine for a week (although very difficult to come back home, I'm sure!)

I haven't made an apartment decision yet...yesterday I wanted to move, today I don't. TG wants "us" to move, but since he's not officially on my lease (and still technically has his own place!) it's all on me...which of course he reminds me of after giving me twenty minutes of advice and I told you so's about moving into an old building, lol. We've been talking about making it official and moving into a bigger place so we have more room for Munchkin once my lease here is up, so my other hesitation is in moving to yet another stop-over place and then doing that less than a year later. So today I'm leaning toward seeing what management can do for me to make it worth my while to stay put for now...tomorrow, who knows.

Today's meal plan:

B: cottage cheese with cinnamon and Splenda

S: mixed nuts

L: Chicken Lentil-Barley soup, salad

S: Fruit with cheese

D: Thai-style vegetable fried (brown) rice

De: More fudge...came up with an idea last night for how to tweak it, so I'm going to make some more this weekend and hope it's post-worthy, lol

Hey Girls,

I am just now had a chance to peek at yesterdays posts. Dh has been using the laptop to remote in to work, so I have not had much time to check in, or do much of anything online.
For the most part, I am over this cold, but now I am dealing with a surprise visit from TOM. The combination has left me feeling a little lethargic, so I highly doubt I will meet my mini goal as far as exercise goes this week. At least I have lost some of the bloating that crept up on me last week. I was so happy when I got on the scale today! My weight is back to where it was right after phase 1. Big relief after my weight and my inches shot up my first week on phase 2. I think I am beginning to adjust and I feel really good about that!

Good Luck to everyone today!

Today

B: Oatmeal Pancake
S: yogurt with peanut butter and splenda
L: Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken
S: Roasted Chickpeas
D: Split Pea Soup with Ham, Bacon, and Rosemary
D: Almond Cake

Suzy,
I am so sorry for Gandalf. :( Poor little guy. I will keep him in my prayers today. I hope it is not that serious.
Yesterday was warm in our neck of the woods and by afternoon, I opened some of the windows to air out the house a little even though it was only 45 degrees.

Margaret,
Have fun planning for dh's big 40 th Birthday Bash. We just celebrated my dh's 30 th. Best Wishes!

Bets,
I hope you were able to run all your errands. I hate running errands, but nothing beats the feeling of knowing they are done. :) Congrats to you BIL and dh's best Friend. Enjoy all the Celebrations!

Shan,
Sorry to hear about all your apt mishaps. I can't imagine not having a heater that works especially this time of year. Nor could I imagine moving with snow on the ground. It sounds like it is a really tough decision. If you do move, is the apt complex willing to comp you for the inconvenience?

Kristen,
High 5 for jogging with your dog. I love jogging. It is such a huge stress reliever for me and as soon as I am over this cold I will be out the jogging too.

Maryann,
I am so glad you were dug out. Cabin fever is the worst. I can't imagine having to climb in and out of a window just to get outside. I bet you’re glad that’s over with. :)

MAW602000,
Your Chicken Mole sounds so yummy. No wonder your roommates didn't protest over eating SBD style for a weekend. Now I can not wait to try that recipe. :)

Sara,
I have been struggling to get back into my workouts too. Between getting over a cold and TOM, I am not really in the mood to go jogging this week. Still, I know I could do some pilates....I am just not feeling it this week.

Shar,
When I am in the swing of things, I love doing my cardio before breakfast. Don't you love the energy it gives you all day? Knowing that it speeds up your metabolism is not bad either. :)

Julie,
Welcome to phase 2. I have not tried the oatmeal with SF syrup yet, but it sounds so yummy. Isn't phase 2 so much easier than phase 1? Good Luck!

Hi everyone. Suzy, sorry to hear about Gandalf. Hopefully it won't be so bad.

I've done cardio 3 days in a row, so I figure I'll take today off, unless of course the weather is nice again. Then I may have to walk over to the school and pick ds up. It's about a 15 minute walk there and a 15 minute walk back.

Today's meals:

Breakfast: poached egg on 1 slice w/w toast, glass of V-8
Snack: Cheese string
Lunch: salad with 1/2 can of salmon, 1/2 c. l/f cottage cheese, cherry tomatoes,
Snack: Celery with Laughing Cow
Dinner: Poached sole fillets, asparagus, 1/2 c. brown rice, salad
Dessert: s/f l/f choco pudding

I'm not sure that the scale is moving down yet (which is okay), but my clothes are definitely much looser.

Have a good day everyone.
