Hump Day Wednesday Phase 2 Check In

Good Morning!

I am just now reading yesterday's posts.  Last night I took my chinchilla Gandalf to the vet because he's acting like he may have tooth pain again.  Thursday they will have him all day and put him under anesthesia and take x-rays to see what's going on with his roots, and there was a potentially loose, inflamed tooth that may be pulled.  I am bracing myself that if this is bad and if he'd need surgery every 3 months, that we'll have to probably put him to sleep since it wouldn't be much of a quality of life for him.  I am heartbroken at the thought of losing my only "little boy".  :-(

They want to rebuild my work computer and update the software probably today so I'm going to hurry & post...

B:  usual yogurt & kashi

L:  asparagus & turkey

S:  PB yogurt

D:  Unsure yet....

Have a great day and I'll catch up with you later :-)

Hey Kristin,

I found the recipe for the Almond sponge cake in the recipe section. It looks really good and I have been dying to try it. I'll let you know how it comes out.

Good evening ladies! Hope everyone is enjoying their week. Only 2 more days until the weekend!!! YAY!

Exercise for me is going no where. My excuse is that if I exercise now what am I going to do once I hit that dreaded plateau. ;o) I'm losing weight right now and I think that once I feel more comfortable with this meal plan I can slowly start adding more exercise in. Good for everyone who *is* exercising! You guys rock!! :o)

Here is my menu for today...
B: Cukes and Humus
S: Pistachios
L: Leftover veggies with a little whole wheat pasta
S: Strawberries (sooooo good)
D: Meatloaf (was going to make this the other night but ran out of time. Here is the recipe http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-fbsouthbeach/?msg=4411.1 and I will let you know how it was!)

Suzy, sorry to hear about Gandalf. Hope they can fix his tooth!

Shan, your killing me with that fudge! Can't wait to see the final recipe. ;o) Also, good luck deciding where to live.

Maryann, sending your ~~~~~~heat waves~~~~~~ from FL.

Scully, (((hugs))) on having to deal with both TOM and the sickies. As you know I was in the same predicament and the diet suffered. *Definitely* no exercise. lol Hope you are feeling more yourself soon!

Shar, way to go with the exercise!! You are doing great. What do you do for your cardio? A 30 minute walk or jog?

Kristen, good job with the jogging! Also, I have to agree that those PB cookies weren't the best. Maybe with less Splenda they would be better. :o)

Aimee, good luck getting that exercise in! That is definitely an area that I need to improve. Also, way to go on the pumping 12 months and still going! I loved breastfeeding my son but I could barely stand pumping. I did though while he was still breastfeeding but when he self-weened at 10 months (got sick) I stopped pumping after a few weeks. You must be very dedicated! Loving your new sig also. :o)

Hey Tricia! Nice to meet you. :o) Hope school settles down for you soon!

Bets, hope you enjoy dinner tonight! It sounds yummy. We had sauteed zucchini, onions, bell peppers, and garlic last night with a little whole wheat pasta and it was wonderful. I'm sure adding cheese to something like that would make it even better. Let us know how it turns out!

See you guys tomorrow! Hopefully I will be around to post more. :o)

Since it is almost dinner time I thought I should check in for the day. This has not been a good day at all. I messed around this morning and missed my 10:00 haircut appt. Luckily I was able to reschedule for this afternoon. Then when I left for the appt. I picked up the wrong keys; they didn't go to my car and they didn't have a house key. Couldn't leave, couldn't go back inside and it was snowing. Had to walk over to my parents to get my spare. Good thing I left early.

B: yogurt and pb
S: string cheese
L: grilled chicken caeser salad
S: apple and mixed nuts
D: We will be dinning out tonight since my SO is leaving tomorrow for Las Vegas and will not be back until Tues.

Hope everyone is having a super day.

Julie

Hey Kristin,

I haven't tried the peanut butter cookies. I made the peanut butter pie with the peanut butter cookie crust and I ren into the same problem. It had a really icky after taste.

However, I am eating the Almond Sponge Cake as I type and I have to say it is soooooooo yummy. I think it would be perfect topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream.

This is my favorite SBD Recipe so far. :)

Mary Ann,
Thanks so much for the recipe. I will definately give these a try. Sounds like something i would like for a quick breakfast. I will leave out the raisins too. I will like them better without them anyway.

If you have any more good recipes I would love to see them.

Thanks,
Pam
