I have a new favorite ingredient!

I have just fallen in love with butter extract. Butter is the one thing I really miss on this diet. I used to use it liberally and have really been missing the flavor. I know we can use the smart balance butter, but I am trying really hard to use it sparingly instead of going through a tub a week. :)

I especially like to use it in my muffin recipes. It saves me from the temptation to slather my healthy muffin with butter.

Makes me wonder what is your favorite SBD approved ingredient?

I think my favorite ingredient would have to be peanut butter.

Butter extract? What is that?
You're not talking about the spray butter, are you?

Yes, I am intrigued too. I have never heard of or seen butter extract. Where in the store would I find it?

Is butter extract in the spice aisle, with the vanilla extract and all that? I've never seen it before!

Good question. I think my favorite ingredients have to be crunchy peanut butter and also laughing cow cheese. I love to put a little of the cheese on my morning egg scamble. It makes the whole thing taste so sinful! It's also really good on celery for an afternoon snack.

No, not the butter spray. It is a flavoring extract like vanilla or almond extract. You can find it on the baking isle in almost any grocery store.

Just a little bit really gives your baked goods such a yummy flavor.

It will not be far from the vanilla extract in your local grocery store. (Baking isle)
I stumbled upon it years ago and have used it many time in pound cakes and bundt cakes. It really gives your baked goods a rich flavor whether they are full fat or not.

Enjoy!

Yes, and if you can not find it in your local grocer, you can go to Super Wal-Mart. They always have it and at the best price.

I have never tried the laughing cow cheese on eggs. I love Hardee's Breakfast bowl. It is defiantly more Atkins than SBD, but I am going to try making my own healthier version this weekend. I am going to try it with the laughing cow cheese. Thanks for the great idea! :)
