Good Morning!
I wanted you to know I did enjoy reading your posts yesterday but didn't get a chance to respond yet. I wish I only worked part-time! LOL I think you're all doing quite well....even with the stall or slight gain some of us are experiencing. I can relate to that big time. LOL! We will all keep going, eating healthy, and will be rewarded with success.....I just know this! :-)
I was worried about Tricia. We haven't heard from her in awhile. I know she's busy with school work, but I still worry. Our dear Rebecca is busy with work. I'll have to write and make sure she's ok too.
Gandalf did great last night. I mixed the Critical Care powder with Ensure Plus and some green bean baby food (sounds gross...huh? LOL) and he ate the entire syringe full! I think he just loved those green beans so much and as long as he can taste them he will eat. He ate his moist pellets overnight which was great too. Now if he'd just drink water. The vet said she hadn't heard back from anyone yet (grrrrr) but she'll phone the Kansas vet school contact today since they should have had time to review his x-rays.
I am so tired this morning. Do you think my boss would notice if I take a nap back here in my cubicle? LMBO! ;-)
It's ALMOST Friday so I'm hanging in there.
Breakfast: sf ff yogurt & Kashi & coffee
Snack: slice 2% lf cheese
Lunch: grilled chicken & veggies
Snack: PB yogurt
Dinner: Maybe salmon & veggies if I go to my parents' to make dinner.
Snack: sf ff pudding
Have a great day! The sun will be out here and hopefully some snow will melt. It will be around 38 I think.

Morning ladies!!!
I'm SO happy to hear Gandalf is doing better!
hi all,
Life is okay. I'm sick :( YUK. I'm sure my robitussin has sugar but I don't care at this point! Soup and more soup. I am feeling much better today than I was yesterday which is nice. I still lost as of the scale this morning, so I'm at an all time low since starting SBD. (on week 1 of phase 2 I went up just a few pounds).
Now I am on week 2 of phase 2 and I am down to where I should be. I don't have meal plans laid out for the day - I know most of you couldn't live without them, but since I am always home, there's not a single temptation anywhere. And I would really have to walk somewhere pretty far to get to a corner store to get chips or chocolate. (and of course tag all three boys in the stroller with me!) that's lots of incentive not to go.
Anyhow, my all time low now is 256! yeah! 14 pounds gone forever.
Natasha
270/256/ goal is 230 by May 28th
Good morning!
Suzy, I'm so glad to hear that Gandalf is doing better...maybe you just need to find some green bean flavored water for him, lol. How about water that you cooked green beans in? Maybe he would like that...although I'm no animal expert, I don't know if that would be bad for him or not.
Sorry I didn't get to check in with everyone yesterday...very bad day here :-( TG was taken to the hospital from work in the morning, I got the call right as I was about to post. He's OK, but very lucky...he was taking out some extra trash, and had to walk around underneath a loading dock because a truck was parked in the wrong spot, and a big metal cart fell off the dock, bounced, and then landed on him. If it hadn't bounced first, it could have been very serious (they're estimating that the cart weighed upwards of 200 lbs by itself, and thankfully it was empty at the time), but since it did bounce he didn't break anything. I couldn't go with him to the hospital, someone from his department had to take him, but once he was released I took him home and stayed with him for the afternoon to make sure everything was OK. He's really stiff and sore today, so he stayed home, but seems to be doing well otherwise so I came back to work today. The bruises haven't shown up yet, I'm sure they're going to be incredibly nasty when they do.
Last night was a Munchkin night, she was such a sweetheart helping to take care of her Daddy :-) She actually made dinner for us, I just handed her the ingredients and supervised her at the stove...I was pretty impressed, she's only 5! I gave her some canned tomatos and herbs to make a homemade marinara, and had her mix it in with spaghetti and some pre-cooked shrimp, and then we made some whole wheat garlic toast. So then because she was such a good little chef, we made a deal that she only had to try a certain number of bites of her vegetables and if she didn't like it she didn't have to finish them. She ate all her bites (big bites, too!) without a single complaint, so I let her off the hook for the rest...I'm going to have to remember that tactic, and just keep slowly increasing her number of bites ;-)
Today's menu, as far as I've figured out, lol:
B: oat bran hot cereal with cinnamon and Splenda, coffee
S: Nuts
L: Leftovers of something and a salad
S: Cheese wedge, probably with an apple
D: Soup, with either sandwiches or a salad
De: Jello, pudding, or ricotta creme
Take care all, ttys!
Shan
(((Natasha)))
I hope you feel better soon!
Kristin
Today is not going too badly. It is awful out with rain and snow later, but other than that, all is well.
Glad to hear Gandalf is eating. Do you think he would drink more from the faucet or a fountain? Just a suggestion.
Here's today's plan -
Breakfast - smoked salmon with rondele cheese, V8, Milk and SF FF Blueberry yogurt
Snack - hummus with green pepper strips
Lunch - 2 pieces of Oven Fried chicken with a salad
Snack - grapes
Dinner - Garlic Lime Chicken, grilled veggies and a salad
Have a great day everyone!!!
Yikes, Shan! Sounds like a narrow-miss! How scary. Here's to a quick recovery!
I was doing SO well yesterday until I remembered I had to make cookies for DD's preschool class party. It was about 5:30, and I called DH to see if he would pick up some of those break and bake kind, but when I found out he wasn't going to be home until 7:30 I said forget it. I'd rather bake from scratch than wait to cook until after 8:00. So, I baked sugar cookies from my Fanny Farmer recipe and made the fatal mistake of licking the batter. Then I thought well, I better make sure the cookies taste ok. I think I ate about 5 of them before I finally felt sick enough to stop. Mind you, I was doing this BEFORE dinner because DH was late. So I was starving. DUMB. Oh well. I'm trying to be extra good today, although I did indulge in one last cookie at the party. LOL
Here is my menu for today:
B: oatmeal w/milk, peanut butter and about 1/3 of a banana; coffee w/milk
S: frosted cookie (shhh......)
L: leftover salmon from last night w/celery and onions
S: cashews
post work-out snack: whole wheat tortilla w/cheddar cheese
D: spaghetti squash w/ veggie marinara
S: yogurt or sf fudgsicle
Trying to decide whether I want to fork over the daycare costs to go to the gym this afternoon since I can't go this evening, due to a parent meeting at the school.
EDITED to update that I did go to the gym and did 33 min on the elliptical. Then came home and was starving. Rather than wait til dinner I made myself a small quesadilla. The daycare cost me $16 but I figured it was less than taking the kids out to lunch. LOL
Hope you are all having a good day!
Leslie
