Weekend P2 Check-in! :)

I always miss our daily check-ins on the weekend, so I thought I'd start one of my own.

DH and I went out for our date this afternoon. We had a delicious lunch -- I had a crab and shrimp salad. Very SBD friendly, and really tasty. Also a beer and a bite of DH's burger. LOL.

We went to the movies and saw "Million Dollar Baby" which was really good. I even avoided the snacks at the theater since we had just eaten.

Our friends who came over to babysit the kids stayed for dinner, and my only transgression was partaking in the blueberry pie for dessert.

So here was my menu today:

B: egg scramble w/boca sausage and zucchini

L: salad w/fresh veggies, lump crab meat and baby shrimp. A very small amount of the thousand-island type dressing that came with it. Also a beer. Not so bad considering my other option was the buffalo chicken sandwich and fries! -g-

D: roasted chicken and a large green salad w/homeade vinaigrette. A small serving of rice pilaf (about 1/4 c). Blueberry pie for dessert.

More like a P3 day, but considering all the options I think I did pretty well. Now.... to avoid eating the rest of the pie! LOL

Hope you are having a good weekend!

Leslie, you're a lifesaver, lol...I miss the checkins on the weekend too, I feel so much less accountable and tend to sneak in things I don't need, and today I really need to vent!

So far, this has not been the greatest weekend...we have Munchkin, and she is in full-on "you're not my mommy" mode, if I hear ONE MORE tantrum on that subject I think my head will explode, lol. She asked to go to the grocery store with me this morning, what a nightmare!!! I thought I was going to get arrested at one point, I told her she couldn't use the shopping cart as a scooter which she thought was a great reason to throw a crying, yelling "YOU'RE NOT MY MOM" fit in the store...luckily people around here don't seem to be too concerned about a potential kidnapping situation because TG wasn't with me. And it's just gone on from there...there was another crying fit at the cash register because I bought vegetables, God forbid, and the latest one was because she found a single piece of pepper in her sandwich at dinner. TG and I have been trading "she's only 5, dear" reminders since about 7 o'clock this morning, lol....

Anyway, I am off to do some much-needed yoga, but here was my menu for today:

B: Half of a ww breakfast wrap (scrambled eggs and salsa)

S: none

L: Tuna salad on baby spinach

S: popcorn

D: Vegetarian sloppy joes on WW kaiser rolls, with a salad

De: Sugar-Free Peanut Butter Fudge (yes, Carol, I'll post the recipe after I test how this latest batch turned out)

Take care all :-)

Hey if it makes you feel any better, I have a 4.5 yo who does pretty much the same thing at times and I AM her mommy. LOL.

Don't give into her, but also don't let her get to you. (Yeah right, easier said than done!!) The end result you want to strive for is that she learns that acting in a polite, appropriate, and friendly manner is the way to get nice things. This will come through from consistency and patience, and it won't happen over night.

Ok, can you remind me of this next time I have a bad day with the kids? ROFL!!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one around on the weekends, too!

Hi Maryann and Shan and anyone else who is lurking today!

Your menus sound good. I love sharing these with one another. It gives me ideas to break out of my ruts. Also helps to remind me that it's ok to eat more grains. I eat very little, and tend to feel guilty when I do. I'm not sure where I got that misinformed attitude, because I certainly don't think that about any one else's menu. Ya know?

Maryann, you give me too much credit. Because I did go back and eat another piece of pie last night. LOL. My stupid justification was that I'd just get it over with and not have it tempt me today. And you know what? I had the worst heartburn last night, and I think it must have been the pie. I'm almost wondering if sweets give me heartburn because I used to suffer terribly from it, and it hasn't bothered me in ages!

Anyhow, here is today's menu:

B: eggs w/zucchini, boca sausage and feta; coffee w/milk - I used up the last of the veggie sausage so I guess I'll have to move on to something new now. LOL

L: large salad w/tuna (I think)

S: not sure, but I'm going to an Arbonne party and I'm somewhat afraid of what delicious unhealthy snacks will await me. For anyone who doesn't know what Arbonne is, it's an all natural line of cosmetics. Maybe I should eat some PB yogurt before I go

D: homeade pizza on whole wheat crust; veggies w/dip on the side

S: either PB or a sf fudgiscle if I have the yogurt earlier

And I'm trying to figure out when and if I'll be able to make it to the gym. If I could do 45 min on the elliptical I wouldn't feel nearly as guilty about that dern pie. ;-) The thing that bothers me about the pie -- which honestly wasn't all that terrible -- is that *I* bought it because I thought it would be nice to give our guests dessert. They didn't need it anymore than I did! Plus, it would have been so easy to make a healthier choice like fruit and cream, SF pudding, a couple of pieces of dark chocolate. I can't figure out why I did that, other than the big sign that said ' 9" pies on sale for $3.99 '

Happy to see a weekend check-in. I did okay this weekend. Got on the scale on Saturday after my first week on P2 and lost another pound (8 total). Not bad considering we ate out most of last weekend (dinner on Friday, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and lunch on Sunday), plus ate a chicken wing during the Super Bowl and ate out on Wednesday night. I ate at SBD as I could, but still not the same as home.

Here is what my weekend looked like -

Breakfast - oatmeal with milk and V8

Snack - pistachios

Lunch
