Happy Tuesday!
How was everyone's night? I have to tell you what DH did. It was pretty cute! He came home with a VDay balloon to go with my rose. We headed off to dinner. We went to Ruby's at the end of the Huntington Beach pier. It wasn't too crowded. There were tons of kids there though. Like high school kids. I felt so old! LOL Anyways, while we were waiting for our table, he gave me my gift. He handed me 3 cards. Two said Mom and one said Wife. One card was from our dog, Biscuit. One was from the kitties. He even drew little paw prints like they 'signed' it. LOL They furbabies got me a gift cert to Barnes & Noble. Sweet! The last card was from him, of course. He got me a gift cert to the Gap. I can always use clothes! It was very cute! We had a nice dinner. Went home and went to sleep. Poor guy was so tired. It was a fun evening though!
Here's my menu:
B - half Kashi Go Lean, half Uncle Sam w/ 1% milk
S - banana
L - rosemary chicken w/ roasted veggies
S - carrots, sf ff vanilla yogurt w/ mixed berries
D - leftover babyback ribs with either a salad or green beans. I know the ribs aren't SB but I can't just throw them out! ;)
S - pb yogurt w/ choc chips

I did really well yesterday. Stuck with the plan and feel really good. I did give in and have one piece of the dark chocolate with hazelnuts that my boss's wife sent me and the other assistant. After I ate the chocolate, I really wanted more, but ate my grapes and LC cheese really quick. Seemed to work.
Today it is gorgeous here. Almost 50 and the snow should be melting!! WOOHOO!!!
DH turns 40 today and said the sweetest thing this morning. He said with one notable exception (his mom died this past April) that he is happier going into his 40's then he was going into his 30's. We met when he was 35. He is the best. I am very lucky. :)
I was planning on finally making my return to the gym today (2 year hiatus) and getting on the treadmill for 15 minutes. Had it all planned, but I somehow pulled my right groin muscle yesterday and it is killing me. So, no gym today. Maybe Thursday.
The kitties are great. Slept with mommy most of the night to make sure I was okay. How do they know?
Here's my plan for today -
B - oatmeal, V8 and milk
S - hummus with pepper sticks
L - LO Chicken Capri with salad
S - apple
D - Garlic Chicken (one of Dh's faves) with Cumin-Garlic Mayo, Roasted veggies, and salad
Have a great day everyone!!!!
Suzy,
The Kashi Blueberry Waffles are fine in phase 2.
You can ask for the whole wheat pasta in any dish to replace any regular pasta or potato! =o)
Isn't that something to smile about!
Hiya everyone!
We didn't really do anything for Valentine's Day, but DH did get me a card. My daughter was the one who really warmed my heart though. She must have made me at least 4 Valentines this past week. LOL.
My menu yesterday was:
B: 2 eggs w/1 pc ww toast; coffee w/milk
L: tuna w/veggies; 1/2 of kids cheese quesadilla on WW tortilla
S: nuts
D: 1/2 cup chili - ate light because I went to the gym
S: pb yogurt w/nuts and shredded wheat (more of a post-workout meal than a dessert). Then had my dessert of 2 pc of dark chocolate and a SF fudgsicle.
Today:
B: good ole quaker oats; coffe w/milk
S: nuts
L: big bowl of last night's chili
S: celery w/laughing cow cheese
D: Mexican restaurant with my girlfriends YAY!!
S: probably none, or maybe another piece of that dark chocolate if DH saved me any! ;-)
I had a great workout last night. I did 25 minutes on the elliptical, then 35 on the treadmill. I even ran for 4 minutes of that. My friend has this crazy idea to run a 5K in June, so I'm seeing how it feels to start one of those "couch to 5k" plans. I am not sure how my body will react to running, so I'm giving it a test this week. It's tiring, but ok so far! Anyone here do any running?
Have a good afternoon, friends!
~Leslie
Good Afternoon Kristin: Glad you had a wonderful Valentines. We don't celebrate Valentinesas its too commercial. Althought we bought a box of Whitman's (low Carb) samplers and decided to have 2 pcs a day each. The box will be empty by Friday. Don't have a craving for sweets so buying them will not get me into trouble,but on the other hand salty snacks give em craving. The doctor told me that slat craving comes from having low carbs. Hugs Maryann
my menu today is:
B=1/2 c fiber one cereal,blueberries and milk
S=l/c shake
L=1c noodle soup with 2 sticks of cheese wrapped in ham slices.
S=1 orange
D=slald greens with F.V. Chicken Livers with onions,mushrooms on a slice of fiber bread.
Dessert=1c yogurt
Happy Tuesday everone!
Ugh, just got home from my girls night out. The girls were great and we had lots of time to chat and catch up and complain about our husbands and kids. But the food wasn't all that good and there were no healthy choices for me. I ended up saying 'screw it' and just ordered what I wanted which was a combo plate of a taco, enchilada and something else. But it didn't even taste all that good, so I feel like I wasted a cheat. Ya know? The restaurant is pretty new, and if they keep their food like this I'm sure they won't be in business long.
But we went across the street to Bennigan's afterwards and I enjoyed a decaf Irish coffee, which was tasty! :)
I'm sure I'll have gained weight by tomorrow from the bloating of the bad carbs and sodium. Ugh.
Hope to have a nice, tasty and healthy day tomorrow!
~Leslie
If you're going to have a treat, it should at least taste good!
