Again - edited for my week of a "full disclosure" menu! I'm eating a lot more than normal, I wonder what the deal is? :)
~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everyone!
It's a bright sunny day (albeit covered in snow!) here in SE Michigan. I am so sick of winter, but at least we have sunshine. My little 2 year old guy is doing much better after he came down with a nasty fever and hives yesterday. Today it's nothing that a few boxes of tissues won't take care of. :)
I feeling a little frustrated because I am at another "stuck weight". I know it's because I keep getting little bites of this and that, but it's still annoying because I did so well in January, losing 6 lbs. I haven't lost any in Feb. yet. I feel like I'm not very good at integrating the grains into my diet. Seems like I do much better on a P1 + one fruit + one grain routine. I wonder if that is normal? I'm going to be strict P2 through the weekend and see how it goes.
Here is my menu for the day:
B: egg scramble w/feta, ham and zuchinni; coffee w/milk
S: a small handful of nuts; ricotta w/vanilla and splenda
L: taco salad (ground turkey, salad fixin's, salsa); ham & cheese sandwich that DH refused (on whole wheat bread, so P2 legal)
S: grapes and LC cheese wedge
D: not sure yet -- had planned to do a roast in the crockpot, but DH reminded me that it's Lent so I have to find a meatless dinner instead.
Any fun plans for the weekend? We might take the kids to see the Pooh movie, if DS is feeling better.
Take care!
Leslie
Hi girls!
Sorry I haven't had time to post the last couple days, work is crazy again and when I get home I rarely have time.
I was so glad to read the post for the last couple days and realize I'm not the only one that hasn't really lost in Feb.
Well, this is my first time posting in the Phase 2 forum, so bear with me while I learn the ropes. I went through Phase 1 slow, but with an amazing ending! The first week I lost 1 lousy lb, and was kinda frustrated. But by the time I recorded my progress for the ending of P1, I had lost 5 lbs. Surprized the heck out of me, when I was only expecting to lose another pound and see a total weight loss for P1 of 2 lbs.
So I've been on P2 for 5 days now and haven't yet weighed myself. I want to weigh in every Monday morning to check my progress. But the scales scares, and also disappoints me too much. I'd like to weigh in only once a month, and check my progress by the way my clothes fit, but curiosity killed the cat....so I'll check each Monday. I don't want to get discouraged like I used to do in the past on all the diets I was on...I wouldn't see a good weight loss, so I'd give up! I don't want to do this with SBD, because this is the one and only diet that I actually like and know that it is doable for me. My husband also likes it and is losing weight. He eats what I eat..but not quite as strict.
Here is my menu for today:
B-one lean sausage and asparagus omelet (made with Eggbeaters)
5oz. glass of V8, one slice pumpernickle toast w/trans-fat free margarine, 8 oz. water.
S- one low-fat mozzerella cheese stick
L- small bowl of homemade veg/beef soup, small side salad w/CarbWell ranch dressing, 8oz.
glass of 1% milk.
S- a SBD peanut butter cup frozen-sicle. ( I made a double batch of the SBD peanut butter
cup and poured it into a popsicle mold.) Makes a great frozen treat to eat slooow.
D- larger bowl of the homemade veg/beef soup, and a chicken salad wrap w/ww tortilla, 8oz.
glass 1% milk.
S- not sure...maybe a Golden Del. apple w/PB (Love 'em) w/cup of green tea
Already finished my 3rd 9oz. bottle of water. I carry around a bottle of water like an alcoholic carries around a can of beer!! They go where ever I go.
I haven't been posting lately because I haven't been following the diet very well. I was out of town and had meetings for work that put me off track. I know I could have stuck to eating right but I guess I just took the easy way out. I am trying to recommit now and have been doing well for the last couple of days. I just got over my TOM and I hope I will be able to resist cravings now. Wish me luck.
Todays menu:
B - scrambled eggs with veggie and V8 to drink
L - seafood wrap with veggies on ww tortilla
s - undecided as of yet
D - cauliflower soup and maybe a grilled cheese sandwich on ww bread
de - sf jello with ff cool whip
Hey Sara - I can distinctly remember the annoyance of hovering between 202 and 199. It seemed to go on forever, and each time the scale jumped back up to 200 instead of 199, I was so mad! Hang in there, pretty soon those numbers will be a distant memory. Now I'm happy to be stuck with the same problem between 182 and 179. ;-)
Rather than buckling down, you might want to shake things up. Try eating a completely different breakfast than whatever your usual is for a week or two. Or maybe have a completely different snack at night. It will make your body go "huh?" and sometimes that is enough to break out of a stall. Or, if you do the same exercise each week, try something new. I have been doing the elliptical forever, and am now setting myself a new challenge on the treadmill for the very same reason.
And yeah, I have to watch the cheese too. When I'm having trouble, I need to limit myself to a measured 1-2 oz of cheese per day. I think my problem this week might be the nuts I keep reaching for though!
P.S. I never could figure out how to cook the Bob's hot cereal. I went back to good old fashioned Quaker Oats and am much happier now -- both with the taste and the price!
