(edited my menu for full disclosure again... sheesh!!)

Hi friends!

Welcome to any of our new P2ers. Feel free to jump on in the conversations! Some of us are old veterans and some of us are brand new to the boards or SBD, so no matter where you fit in, you are welcome here :)

Any fun plans for the weekend? My plans have changed since now both kids are feeling under the weather. We planned to see the Heffalump movie (the first movie for my 2 yo), but I think we'll wait til next weekend now. Other than that, I plan to do Week 2, Day 3 of my "couch to 5K" program tomorrow (here's the link if anyone is curious http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/Programs/couch_to_5k_overview.htm). And also want to go buy some new running shoes.

Here is the menu for today:

B: egg scramble w/ham, zuchinni and probably too much cheddar cheese LOL; coffee w/milk
S: none
L: lettuce, cucumber, and red pepper salad topped with leftover taco meat, and a splash of salsa
S: a handful of nuts... then another handful.... then a few of the kids' fruit chews.
D: roast beef, brocolli and roasted carrots
S: yogurt flavored w/splenda and vanilla (skipping the PB due to too many nuts this afternoon!)

Enjoy your weekend, buddies!

~Leslie

I have been doing pretty good for the last few days. I guess to make up for how bad I did for a couple weeks prior to that. It looks like things are settling down in my life right now so it should be easier for me to stick to healthy eating. Things were up in the air because dh was trying to donate a kidney to his brother but was rejected due to a prior bout of skin cancer. I knew it would be difficult to stick to any routine if that went through. Even though things are back to normal, I wish the transplant would have went through. Oh well, I'll just hope and pray for the best. This weekend is going to be a lazy weekend. We are supposed to get some snow so we may be home bound.

Menu for today:
B - two eggs and 1 1/2 pieces ww toast, milk to drink
L - lean ground beef and black eyed peas, salad
sn - celery and lc cheese
D - london broil, shrimp, veggies
de - yogurt with Uncle Sam's cereal (my personal favorite snack or desert right now)

Have a good weekend,

Cindy

Karen - sorry to hear you have a sick little one, too! I can totally relate to the mess up this morning. I did the exact same thing last week. It was an apple walnut muffin and I half-heartedly convinced myself that the nuts were carb-competitors.... LOL. Watch out for cravings the rest of the day... that's what I dealt with when I started the day with a sugar-bomb.

Maryann - I actually had to reread your comment about me being lucky that I can run, because this is the first time in my life I've ever attempted it. Being overweight and heavy chested with a bad back to boot, I never would have guessed I could run at all. But I'm about 20 lbs lighter than I've been most of my adult life, and my friend wants to do a 5k this summer, so I thought I'd give it a try. I think you may be decades ahead of me with your powerwalking though! LOL

Cindy - Wow, you have a lot of family medical issues going on, don't you? Sending your family many healthy thoughts and prayers. Especially for your BIL that they find him a good kidney.

I had to go back and update my menu again. I can't stick to my plans this week for some reason. I've been so hungry! I wonder if the measly 8 minutes of running could possibly be the reason?
