Hello, and welcome to Phase 2! We're happy to have you here :-)
I think your menu looks good...2 whole grains at the beginning of P2 is about right. But if you find that your body thinks it's too much, I would cut out the grains at breakfast first, those always seem to affect me more than grains later in the day. Good luck!
I hope everyone had a good long weekend...mine was alright, except that I'm now convinced I need to move :-( Someone tried to steal my car out of the parking lot on Sunday morning...luckily, TG saw them through the window and managed to scream them off before they got the car. So now I'm battling with my management company to follow through on their offer to transfer me to another building (because of course the person who extended the offer no longer works for them)...or else I'm going to have to hire a lawyer to help break my lease. It looks like I'll be traveling for work two weeks out of this month, so I have no idea when I'll actually be able to move, but TG has offered himself and his friends to take care of it if necessary. It looks like he's coming with me because I just don't feel safe living alone in this area. So now I'll have to break the news to my very conservative parents once we find a place to live...that should be fun :-(
Today's menu:
B: Uncle Sam with Mixed Berries...yummier than expected, lol
S: Apple
L: Salad and Vegetarian Sloppy Joe on WW Kaiser roll
S: Nuts or cheese
D: Pasta with "creamy" Artichoke & Parmesan sauce, roasted broccoli, and Carrot & Olive Salad.
De: I think I might try the famous Peanut Butter Yogurt :-)
Shan
Hi,
B: Kashi Go Lean w/2% organic milk
S: 2 Sausage & Cheese egg cups
L: Pita w/chicken salad & black bean salad on the side
S: 2 California wraps
D: Chicken Capri w/broccoli & Side salad
S: Apple w/peanut butter
Counting down to when I hang up the horns...

Hi everyone! I love it when our daily thread is so busy! I'm glad I have time to read it today, sometimes I have to skim. But I *always* read the menus for good ideas. :)
Shan - Yikes! How scary! I lived in an apartment when I was in college and there was actually a shooting outside one night. Needless to say, I moved very shortly after! On a more mundane note, your vegetarian sloppy joes sound good! How do you make them?
I am very bummed to be at the same weight for the third week in a row. It's really no mystery why it's happening, but still frustrating. I'm trying to get my brain back on track. Yesterday was crazy, bringing both kids to the pediatrician at lunch time, then having to shop afterwards, pick up DS's prescription for his ear infection, etc... So, I wound up having a very unfortunate McDonald's 'incident' at lunch time... meaning, I had a very NON-sbd lunch because I hadn't eaten since breakfast and it was 2:30 by the time we hit the drive-thru. I had given the kids a snack, but my teeny serving of nuts didn't hold me over for long enough.
So today was my weigh-in, and I'm *still* 179. Actually, 179.5, but I blame the french fries for that and expect to see that gone tomorrow. My next mini-goal is to lose 5 lb by the end of March and at this rate, I don't know if I can do it!
Here is my menu for today:
B: 1/2 whole wheat english muffin w/1 slice of bologna and 1 egg; coffee w/milk
S: 2 long stalks of celery
L: salad w/lettuce, tomato, celery, LF feta, leftover steak and balsamic vinegar. YUM!
S: PB yogurt w/a handful of Kashi cereal thrown in -- my pre-workout snack
D: making minestrone soup out of the leftover spaghetti sauce from yesterday by adding chicken broth and beans
S: fudgsicle
I am going to the gym tonight to do Week 3, Day 1 of Couch to 5k. I have to run for 6 minutes... not sure if I can do it or not!

P.S. I had to laugh as I read through the posts from yesterday because it seems so many of us were visited by TOM last week. ;-)

Its another rainy day here, which is SO odd for the desert - its starting to drive me crazy!
Both kids are home again today. Dd only goes MWF so this is her day home anyways, but my 1st grader is home sick - not sure what he has exactly - he has a fever, 103 last time I checked, and a headache and keeps thinking he has to throw up, but he doesn't actually. So maybe some kind of flu? He is so bummed because his science fair project was due today, judging is today and public viewing tomorrow. I have no way to get his project to school (he's too sick to go down there with me and dh can't get off work to take it over) so he will have to miss it this year. And he worked SO hard on it :-( His teacher said he can bring it in when he's better and at least present it to his class.
Breakfast: oatmeal (cooked with milk) w/sugar-free maple syrup
Snack: shake (milk, yogurt, ice, berries)
Lunch : leftover split pea soup, zucchini, salad
Snack: apple w/peanut butter
Dinner: Crockpot chicken w/artichokes and sun-dried tomato, ww pasta, broccoli rabe
Desert: not sure yet, probably pudding or fudgscicle
Again today the scale went down .5 lb (to 165.5)! So strange as today is the beginning of TOM for me too! Now with my luck it will go back up to 168 by my "real" weigh in Friday!

Hi Leslie:
I've been living in apartments for the last six years or so in bigger cities than this (New York and DC, for crying out loud!) and have never experienced anything like this, it's a real shame :-( Everyone I've talked to in the building says the same thing...we all moved here from bigger cities and chose that building because it's the kind of place we always wanted to live and couldn't afford in bigger areas, but the crime rate is just out of control. It's sad when people come from Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, etc., and are being driven out of a dinky little half-city because it's just got too many of the urban issues to be liveable :-(
