ok i was in the store and noticed thomas's has many varieties of english muffins. they have one that is 100% whole wheat but the one I remember that was SO striking is the "hearty grains light" variety which has EIGHT GRAMS of fiber per muffin. This is NOT one of the larger-sized muffins, but one of the regular ones. Has anyone tried these? Sorry I don't have the nutrition info or ingredients list available. They felt a lot heavier than the other varieties.

Hi,

The only one that is approved is the 100% whole wheat.

My boyfriend is always trying to eat healthy food and buys things like this without looking at the ingredients. I looked at them and yes, they have enriched flours and if I am correct, maybe also hydronated oils?

Have you tried the Thomas 'Carb Consider' Bagels? They are made from 100% whole wheat and have 7 grams of fiber in each bagel. The first 5 ingredients listed are: whole wheat flour, water, wheat protein isolate, oat fiber, wheat gluten.

Nutrition Facts:
Serving size: 1 bagel
Calories: 140
Total Fat: 2.5 gr
Sat fat-0.5 gr
trans fat- 0 gr.
polyunsaturated fat 1g
monounsaturated fat 0.5g
Cholestorol: 0mg
Sodium: 320mg
Total Carbohydrate: 23g
Dietary Fiber 7g
Sugars less than 1g
Protein: 11g

I had one of these for my breakfast and they are pretty good. Not as chewy as the regular bagels, but still good. Of course, these are a once in awhile carb for me. I keep them in the freezer until I want one.

Susie,

Can you post the weight of one bagel (in ounces or grams)?

Cathy..

You explained this so much better than I could...thank you!
And, yes, these bagels are yummy. Not as chewy as the regular bagel, but good.
