Good Morning!
How was your weekend? Did anyone watch the Academy Awards last night? My dh was grumbling because we tried watching it on the high definition channel and they totally botched up the sound. Various people's voices cut out. Oh well....
I managed to get my kitten Gracie to eat a little. Still not as much as she needs to eat by a long shot. I will see what the vet says on Wednesday when I take her back in. I am also trying to arrange an appt with a vet an hour's drive away who does dental work on exotics so I can maybe get a second opinion on Gandalf my chinchilla and see if he needs a tooth pulled. He continues to lose weight so I'm worried. I need to solve his problem so he'll eat again.
Some good news. Last August I helped resuce a Sheltie who needed a good home. (The dog went first class by being flown in a private small plane up to Minneapolis where the Sheltie Rescue was located and she found a home within a week). They kept my name on the list and they contacted me last week saying another family had to give up their 2 year old Sheltie due to financial problems and they were planning on transporting the dog up to MN. I told them I thought it would be less stressful for the dog if I could find him a home here in Nebraska. I asked a colleague of mine at the college I work at if she knew anyone since she had Shelties. She told her co-worker, a drafting instructor, about Riley (the dog) and long story short....he met the owners Friday at a park and ended up adopting Riley on the spot! He already had a 10 year old Sheltie and Riley got along immediately with him, as well as the instructor's 2 teenage kids who loves throwing a tennis ball that Riley would fetch for them. I just love happy endings! :-)
Today I'm starting (for sure!) my exercise routine. I want to walk and start doing my weight training again. Wish me luck! ;-)
Breakfast: yogurt & Kashi cereal, coffee
Snack: Mozz stick
Lunch: ww tortilla with grilled chicken and sauteed veggies
Snack: apple & lite LC cheese
Dinner: Maybe fish & veggies
Snack: fudgesicle
Have a great day everyone!

Welcome to Phase 2 Bonnie!
Hello ladies -
Started out the day well by going to the gym. I did 25 minutes on the elliptical and 35 minutes on the treadmill, with 7 of it jogging. It feels good to be back on track with my 5k training, after taking a one week haitus because of being sick. Unfortunately, that big workout really spiked my appetite and I don't have the groceries to counteract it!
So here is my not-so-good menu so far:
B: 1 pc leftover pizza (wholegrain and homeade, so P2 friendly)
S: 2 cheese sticks; coffee w/milk
L: 2 pc pizza (ok, so no more carbs or cheese today! LOL) and celery
S: cut up veggies
D: sloppy joes (no bread) and a BIG veggie side
S: yogurt w/peanut butter
Sorry I don't have time to answer everyone's posts!
Leslie

Suzy,
Our boys are all brothers from the same litter. They couldn't live without each other. They chase each other one minute and then all snuggle up tight the next. They groom. They look out for one another. Yeah, they get along just fine.
Thanks for asking.
