I thought the poll would make it easy to see just how many of us stalled when starting P2. I am curious since I lost 7.5 lbs in P1 and this is my 6th day on P2 and I have not lost anything, in fact after day one on P2 I gained 1/2 a pound back :(

Hi Nicol,

Don't throw in the towel. My weight stall lasted almost a full two weeks, and then when it did start moving, it was very slow (but this is the norm for me). I still struggle to loose pounds, but I know that with my workouts I am building muscle because even though the scale is slow, the inches are coming off!

for some reason when I started taking metamucil tablets (2) 15-30 min before each meal, the weight started dropping. There's a thread on this somewhere if you do a search. But it sure helped me.

I gained/stalled at first in phase 2. I started SBD with about 46 lbs to lose. I lost 8 in the first 2 weeks....then my first week of phase 2 I gained 2lbs back. The next week I lost these two pounds (but that still just put me back at my end of phase 1 weight) The 3rd week of phase 2 I *finally* lost another lb. Since then I have at lost at least 1 lb, most weeks 2 or 3...but it did take a full 3 weeks of phase 2 before I started losing again. I was even more conservative than you - I only added one fruit/grain serving, not one of each (I alternated, some days a fruit, other days a grain). I'm still only up to having maybe 2 per day (I think I'm on my 8th week phase 2 now? Lost track!) I also stuck to the diet PERFECTLY, worked out 45-60 min EVERY day, drank all my water, hardly had any nuts, etc. I was pretty close to quitting, but it DID start coming off again. I've now lost another 12 lbs since the end of phase 1 (so 20 lbs total) but the beginning of phase 2 was pretty frustrating!

Well the first week it didn't anyway. This week I showed a 1 pound gain which I am hoping was just a PMS thing. Will know next week I guess.

Shar ~ Oh I am in no way throwing in the towel, I am determined to follow SB. I know that eventually it will pay off in many ways. I guess I should not say eventually because it already is, I have lost 7 lbs and I feel great!

I didn't really stall. I gained 2lbs the first week of phase 2, but lost 5lbs the second. I didn't realise it long term until I graphed my weight loss 4 1/2 months into it. I have a feeling I am going to see a weight gain my first week of phase 3 also : )

Kathy,

Thats really encouraging!! Maybe thats what will happen with me. Its weird because by day 13 of P1 I had lost 8.5 lbs, and I was so jazzed! Then on day 14 I was up a pound. So I had to say that

I added to many carbs, now I'm not adding enough. But the SB is a life way of eating. Hugs Maryann
