Have some PUDDING questions.....

I am two weeks into P2 and doing great. The other day I bought some sugar- free, fat-free pudding (butterscotch) and it was so good!! I was never much of a pudding person before - BUT - it was so yummy that I am thinking that this is my answer to my sweet tooth (that is mostly gone now, but you know what I mean) and the fact that I no longer eat my LOVE - ice cream or frozen yogurt anymore. So when I was at the store the other day they had the Jello brand puddings on sale for 50 cents a box! I stocked up...one of every flavor :-) Maybe its just my adjusted taste buds but to me it tastes divine!, I can't even tell that its SF & FF.

Now I just want to clarify some things. I recall reading here that for SB pudding is considered dairy and that you don't count it  toward your 75 calorie a day sweet treats. Am I correct on that? If so than that would mean that it has a 2-3 cup a day limit, right? Or if I had a cup of milk or yogurt  that day then a 1-2 cup limit? Or - What are the limitations on pudding? Is there any thing that I need to be aware of?

I just feel like I am cheating when I eat it, it seems to good to be true. I don't want to mess my diet up, so I want to make sure I am doing everything right.  I made a package of it last week and ate it in 3 days and then I did the same thing this week. I enjoy it as my after lunch or after dinner desert. I was going to limited myself to making just one package a week at the most or should I be limiting it even more than that or does it matter?

BTW ~ My DD's B-day party was Saturday and pudding was a great treat for me while everyone else ate cake :)

Thanks in advance for any info or advice you have,

Hi Nicol,

Pudding is a lifesaver for me too.

Nicol - If you're looking for something else to do with your ff-sf pudding mixes, I highly recommend the link below. You use ricotta, the pudding mix, a little milk, and a sweetener. I've tried all sorts of combinations and have been very satisfied (butterscotch pudding w/ sf caramel syrup, chocolate pudding w/ sf chocolate syrup)! You don't use much mix and its very filling. This probably goes toward your sweet treat because there isn't much milk (at least that's what I've beend doing), but it is worth it!

Just an idea.

Nicol, I also love SF/FF pudding-- it definitely satisfies my sweet tooth too. I like to make the chocolate kind and mix in a little natural pb-- YUM!

As an aside... I think your DD and my DD have the same b-day (March 19). My DD just turned 4 though. I hope your DD had a fun day!!!

I was just going to post this about adding natural pb. I love it! It's my favorite treat, just like eating a huge reese's cup with a spoon.

Thanks Cathy - I am so glad I asked, I knew it was too good to be true that I could just eat 2-3 cups a day and count it as dairy! LOL! Not that I would have anyway.

Thanks for the ideas ladies on how to spice my pudding up! I did put some FF cool whip to my chocolate pudding on Saturday, YUM! I have also found that a little FF cool whip on top of the ricotta cremes is extra yummy.

I am looking forward to giving the PB a try in the choc pudding. Thanks :)
