Hi All!

I thought I'd post a check in and see how everyone is doing after the long Easter weekend. I, personally, had a cheat day yesterday and of course, the scale was stuck today. Ugh.

Anyway, here's my menu for the day...

B: Uncle Sam cereal with 1/2 banana, 1 HB egg, V8
S: Mozzerella cheese stick, diet Dr. Pepper
L: Tuna salad on lettuce greens and tomato and cucumber with vinegarette dressing, fruit "shake" (1/2 banana, DaVinci white chocolate syrup, ice, milk)
S: Red bell pepper, hummus
D: Big Easy Shrimp, Huge salad, broccoli
Dessert: Probably will skip it tonight

Have a great Monday, Everyone!

Happy Monday!

Actually like getting back to work and routine as it is so much easier to stick to healthy eating habits during the week! But, I actually did pretty good this weekend other than a few tastes of dessert on Saturday night. But, I was happy that at least I didn't gain any weight! That is the best thing about SBD. If you get off track a little, it is easy to jump back on and not beat yourself up.

My plan for today...

B: 1/2 Grapefruit and coffee

Mid-AM snack: PB Yogurt

L: 1/2 C. Spicy Black Beans over 1/2 C. Bulgur Wheat

Afternoon Snack: Large Greek salad w/ LF Feta and 1 Tbsp. Walnuts

D: Broiled Tilapia w/ Roasted Veggies and Salad

Snack/Dessert: Either SF Jello w/ 1 Tbsp. Cool Whip Lite or Ricotta Creme.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Kind of glad Easter is over and the candy is dwindling! I can resist just about everything fine, but chocolate is hard! I haven't had any yet though (after my bad experience getting REALLY sick last week with my first "cheat" on some cheesecake the thought of going through that again has kept me away from it!) The kids got TONS at school and from grandparents, I've been slowly sneaking into their baskets and throwing a few pieces away at a time. We didn't give them ANY I filled their baskets with books, bubbles, pencils, stuffed animals, puzzles, crayons, etc. Next year I think I am going to tell the grandparents no candy as well - I know that sounds bad, but I'm not really that strict, I swear! They have plenty of treats! Its just they get SO much from school (this year they each got enough to fill a gallon ziploc bag!)

Fun thing I did this weekend: I cleared out my closet and packed away all my size 16 and size 14's! And they are NEVER coming out again (except maybe for a garage sale!) I pulled out all my old 12's and they all fit. If I go down any further I will have to buy all new clothes LOL! I got rid of my old 10's LONG ago thinking I would never be that size again, but now I'm confident I will!

My kid are out of school this week for Spring Break and are already bored and fighting with each other like crazy! Going to be a LONG week!

B: Oatmeal cooked in 1 cup skim milk
S: string cheese
L: probably will pick up a wrap or SBD meal at the store during grocery shopping, plus salad
S: apple w/ 1 T peanut butter
D: leftover ham, green beans, sweet potatoes
S: yogurt with ? (probably berries)

I already posted my meal plan for today, but wanted to say, GOOD FOR YOU!

I think it is great that you gave no candy to your kids in their Easter Eggs and I don't see anything wrong with encouraging their grandparents to do the same. If we don't start off early teaching good habits they will be stuck with our bad habits when they get older. I have been trying to keep healthier foods in the house and limit the bad carbs my kids are getting too. It is much easier to do with my younger child than it has been with the older one whose bad habits are already becoming engrained.

I don't think you are being overly strict, just overly SMART!

Keep up the great work.
