I saw at Walmart they have Barilla Plus Pasta....

It was Whole grain, and same nutrients as the Whole Wheat, just it was whole grain.
There is no enriched flour,  its not got any sugar or natural sugars.
I believe the only difference is that its grain vs the whole wheat.

so my question is, is it just as acceptable as the whole wheat pasta?
Also when serving and having the pasta's like that  How much is considered a serving??
How do you measure your amount????

Its got
Protein 17g
Fat 2g
Fiber 7g
Omega-3 (360)

Its Multi-grain,  with = Semolina, durum wheat, oast, spelt, barley, and ground flaxseed!

Is this ok?

As long as it's whole Grain, it's great! Yes, Enjoy!

It's sounds wonderful! I'm going to have to look for that myself. Thanks!

Marge, make the pasta your side dish and load up on veggies and whatever else you have in the sauce.

Hi Marge,

Here's the nutritionists response to this pasta:

Pasta can be added to your diet in phase 2. This sounds like a pasta geared towards high protein , low carb diets. Remember that the SBD is not low carb. The best choice would be whole wheat, second best choice would be soy pasta. A pasta such as this would be third best choice.

A serving of all pasta is 1/2 cup cooked.

Hi Marge and everybody,

I personally disagree with the SBD nutritionist about Barilla Plus; she even sounds as if she doesn't

I agree Maggie she put this 3rd on the list of pasta's and I don't think that is right. Semolina is coarsely ground durum wheat and should technically be better than finer durum shouldn't it? Plus flax seed is very good for you (omega-3's). I just bought this pasta this weekend and I like it better than some of the other pastas out there.
