Another pasta question...is this one ok?

We don't eat pasta very often, but on occasion I used to make spaghetti and I would like to try a SB friendly version now or also have some to pour the yummy Shrimp Fra Diavolo over.
At the store the other day I bought these thin spaghetti noodles: Ronzoni - Healthy Harvest - whole wheat blend pasta. Nutrition facts: 6g of fiber, 1g of sugar, 1g of fat, 180 calories. Ingredients: enriched semolina (contains semolina, niacin, iron, thiamin, mononitrate riboflavin, folic acid); wheat bran; wheat fiber; wheat germ.
Is this pasta SB friendly? If not what is the best choice of pasta?

Hi Nicol,
I think there are better SBD-friendly pastas out there. The Ronzoni product you mention has enriched semolina listed as the first ingredient. Look for one that has 'whole wheat' listed first. I don't have any in my pantry now, but I know that DeCecco and Barilla make whole wheat pastas. Also, a clue to reading pasta and bread labels is that whenever the word 'enriched' is used, it is not SBD-friendly.
HTH,
Thank you Karen. I thought that might be the prob. I kinda knew that if anything said enriched flour than it was 'bad' but I was not sure about other things. Okay, so if it says "enriched anything" than its a no-no, right?
Gosh, its kinda hard, especially with bread. I looked and looked at loaves yesterday at the grocery store and it was like even the ones that said whole wheat, mutli-grain,
"What bread is your favorite?"
Hi Nicol,
My favorite breads are Pepperidge Farm 9-Grain (I just love the taste, texture, everything!), and also the Food For Life breads called Ezekiel 4:9 and Genesis 1:29.
The Pepperidge Farms 9-grain is my favorite too. I also like their whole wheat English muffins every once in awhile.

Thank you Maggie and Terri. I will get a loaf of Pepperidge Farms 9-grain next time I go to the store and check it out. I don't eat bread very often but I need some for those times.
Oh and why I am asking.....whats your favorite pasta (like spaghetti noodles) ?
Thanks,
