Question for you all and I would love any thoughts/advise!

I had been losing really steadily for awhile - now I've been at the same weight for a couple weeks. Not too big a deal to me, it happens, I know. But I've been trying to figure out if there is anything I could be doing better/different to get the scale moving again.

I noticed at the same time the scale stopped I increased my workouts. I was doing about 45 min, 5x a week. The last 2 weeks I have been doing 60 min, 6x a week. Plus before I was doing mostly cardio with some pilates or yoga thrown in, and now I have started doing a pretty tough stenghth training/weight work out 3x a week (well its tough for me!) I haven't changed what I have been eating at all though.

Also I am noticing that I've been getting tired/grumpy/headachy in the late afternoon. I am having all my meals/snacks, but I've been getting those phase 1-type "detox" symptoms again.

So - this has made me wonder if with the added workouts I need to eat a little more? Maybe that is why my weight loss has stalled and I'm getting tired more? I've been having 2 starches and 2 fruits a day - do you think it would be good/okay to bump that up to 3? I don't want to over do them and stall even more - but then again I just have a *feeling* that I need more?

What do you think?

Here's a couple days sample menus:

Yesterday:
Breakfast - oatmeal cooked with 1 cup milk
Snack - string cheese, celery & carrot sticks
Lunch - chili, roasted cauliflower
Snack - apple with peanut butter
Dinner - grilled pork chop, big salad w/balsamic vinegrette, brown rice
Desert - yogurt w/strawberries

Today - oatmeal cooked with 1 cup milk
Snack - shake (soy milk, banana, ice)
Lunch - half tuna sandwhich (on ww of course!), big salad w/balsamic vinegrette
Snack - apple with peanut butter
Dinner - chili, lots of roasted veggies
Desert - ? probably a fudgscicle

I can live with staying this weight for awhile, its not the end of the world, I know it will come off eventually and I'm not in a hurry. But I don't like feeling tired and lightheaded in the afternoons!

Yes, it sounds like its time to bump up the servings of fruit and grains to 3 each day.

I totally agree with you MichaelAnn, because of the much more intense exercise you've been getting now, which is confirmed by the way you've been feeling (tired, lightheaded), that's an indication to have the 3 fruits and 3 grains per day.

Thanks guys - that's what I thought, but wanted some "expert" opinions!

It looks like you are getting in 2 servings of dairy each day. Can you up it to 3? That might also help and would meet current guidelines of 24oz in 24 hours.

Keep up the good work.

Well today when I weighed myself (my official weigh in day) I actually DID lose 1 lbs this week...it waited til the last minute though as all week I was still 156. Anyhow, I still think I will add some more food to see if it helps in the afternoon. Yesterday I added an extra grain and I didn't feel like I was going to fall asleep by 4!
