I have been trying to eat more and different kinds of foods, but here it is at 1pm and I'm hungry again!

Here is what I have had today (no morning workout):

Breakfast: ww english muffin w/egg and ff cheese slice, coffee w/milk
Lunch: 1.5 cups homemade lentil soup (with spinach and celery), apple, three sf candies

Why I am hungry already?? This seems like a TON of food to me.

Here's just my input... Cause of my experince

the starch of your WW english muffin and then the apple and 3 SF candies, is probably your hunger reason.
I believe SF candies have at least (the lowest calories 30g.) Not sure on taht so dont quote me.

Thanks. The sf candies have 10 calories each, so that's only 30 calories. I did have a few peanuts which may help. I just don't like that I am eating so much and still feeling hungry. I have been on Phase II for months so I am supposed to be able to have whole grains and fruits, with carb competitors, without incident. I'm not famished . . . I'm just nowhere near full. My afternoon snack is broccoli (lots) with hummus. Then I usually have a spinach salad with yogurt for dinner and sometimes add tomoatoes or blueberries to the yogurt.

To *me* it just doesn't seem like much food! I eat WAY more than that LOL! But everyone is different. I can eat a ww english muffin or cereal or oatmeal just fine in the morning and not feel hungry - so that could be it, or it might not be. Especially since you did eat a carb competitor.

Where is your morning snack? And 1.5 cups of soup doesn't sound like much of a lunch to me personally - I know it is a big portion of soup, but I personally would have had maybe 3/4 cup soup and a 1/2 sandwhich AND a salad!! In fact that is what I am having for lunch today.

For exapmle, today I have had:
breakfast: ww english muffin, yogurt w/peanut butter
snack: shake w/milk, ice, banana and a string cheese
lunch: leftover minestrone soup, half turkey sandwhich on ww bread, good sized salad
Then later I will have an apple w/peanut butter for a snack
and chicken with 2 more servings veggies for dinner...plus a sweet treat later, probably pudding to get in my third dairy serving too.

I know you work out a lot right? I've started working out more and more lately (now up to 6hr a week, which is a big change for me!) and I was feeling really hungry for awhile (and not losing) Once I UPPED what I was eating (espeically more grains and protein) I've started feeling less hungry and losing again (so far 3lbs in the last week since I started eating more!)

Granted I'm certainly not an expert - but I can say that *I* would be hungry if I had eaten what you had so far today!

My day sounds like yours, too..I found that cutting back to 1/2 english muffin (instead of a whole) in the am with my egg and lf/ff cheese worked better, less cravings mid day. I also cannot eat any fruit till 2 or 3pm, because I end up hungry in about an hour after I eat an apple, even with PB.

Hope you get this figured out soon!

Hey, a thought about that english muffin for breakfast.....

Whole wheat english muffins weigh 2 ounces, and therefore count as 2/3 of your starch servings for the day.

Ok, well I just bought the english muffins, so I'd rather not toss them immediately. I change my menu every week, but since I live alone I basically have the same food every day for a week and then mix it up the following week. I actually was not hungry after breakfast and fine until lunch. I was hungry but after eating lunch did not feel remotely full. I ran out of apples, so tomorrow I'll have carrots instead, maybe that will help some. I did add a few peanuts and ate a few more sf candies and I'm ok for now. Getting ready to have my broccoli/hummus snack.

As for the soup, I loaded it up with veggies, adding a huge bag of spinach and another bag of chopped celery. I know it wasn't tons of veggies, but it wasn't terrible either.

I just want to get past this . . . I feel like I think about food all the time because I am always hungry. At the same time I feel like I am always eating too much and could still stand to lose a few pounds.

Today I had a glass of soy milk after my morning weights workout and that has helped immensely! I am much less hungry. Had the same ww english muffin w/egg and cheese breakfast but I'm feeling full! Thanks again for all the suggestions!!

I also have been working on the fact that my body seems to want to stay around 125 lbs. I think at 120 I look better, but my body doesn't like it so I need to accept this weight.

As I'm sure someone has said already, don't pay attention to the number on the scale. Take myself for example, I really DO NOT want to lose any more pounds scale-wise. (I'm 5'2" and weigh around 111-113) I'm pretty comfortable with the way my body looks, except I still want to firm up some flabby areas. So I focus on strength training goals: heavier weights, working each muscle group to failure. So the more muscular I get, the scale may actually go UP, but I don't care. The inches are still dropping. I think that's the mindset you should get into, rather than, "I have to accept that my body wants to stay at X pounds."
