I haven't made it to the check-in thread in a while! But I thought I'd post today. I just had to deal with MAJOR temptation - dd and I stopped for gas after dropping ds off at school and there was a guy in the parking lot selling homemade tamales (my all time favorite food) They smelled SOOOOO good, I've bought from this guy and his family before and they make some of the best in the area (at every store parking lot around here there will be a 1 or 2 families selling tamales out of their car) It was soooo tempting! *sigh* Oh well, I already have decided that when our annual tamael festival comes up this winter I am just going to go for it - so I will have to just look forward to that!
So today's menu - with no tamales included :-(
Breakfast - Kashi waffle, yogurt w/peanut butter
Snack - string cheese w/ sliced turkey
Lunch - leftover grilled porkchop from dinner, big salad
Snack - apple with peanut butter
Dinner - Balsamic Glazed Chicken w/lots of bell pepper and onion over brown rice, roasted broccoli
Desert - strawberries w/ff cool whip
Of to do my workout - lower body today, not looking forward to all those squats, uugghhh!

Hi everyone,
I haven't been feeling well this week so I haven't exercised at all. But, it seems that I've reached a weight that my body is comfortable at (w/in my healthy BMI range) - this happened last year too. Unfortuneatly for me, I'll have to up my workouts to get the rest of the way to my goal. Wish me luck!
Here's what I have for today:
B: Oatmeal w/ 3/4c skim milk and banana
S: None
L: Veggie burger, small WW tortilla, 2c. spinach, plain yogurt w/ SF apricot preserves
S: strawberries w/ string cheese
D: A real mishmash probably - Tuna, steamed broccoli, eggplant lasagna
S: SBD PBC

Way to go MichaelAnn! That was a tough temptation. I haven't had a good tamale since I lived in Arizona. Where are you from? I'm proud of you. And by setting up a specific date in time to eat one of your favorite foods gives you something to look forward to. That's a great idea.
Your dinner sounds yummy! I'll have to try something similar sometime. Do great at your work out!

Thats awsome!
Hope you get to feeling better Katie.
Here's some <<>> to help with your workouts, I know you can do it. By adding the extra muscle that should help you a lot with your final 10 pounds. You're almost there, WAY to GO!

That is absolutely wonderful!!! And thank you for my kudos! I'm really happy that I've done so well. I know that I need to keep checking in here, it really helps me to stay honest with myself. I tell you last week I would have eaten a couple slices of that pizza and definitely would have had the cake. But you know I didn't feel deprived by turning it down. I knew I was going to have a nice dinner and I wanted to just wait. And do you know what? I didn't eat dessert last night, I was still full from dinner and didn't eat. It felt uncomfortable in a way because I'm so used to eating something in the evening. It was a weird feeling not eating. So I think I'm going to really listen to my body and see if I'm really hungry or just bored or wanting to eat out of habit.
I'm so proud of you on your continued success! Way to go! I hope in 6 weeks I can say the same. Great job!

Here's what's going on over here...
I'm trying to increase my protein intake since I'm working out so much and doing lots of weight training. I'm on a major egg kick! The best thing-- I put on a pair of size 8 khaki capris today and am SWIMMING in them. They don't even feel zipped! So even though I've only lost 6ish lbs., all this work is definitely paying off! Yipppppeeee!!!
My menu:
B: 3 Hardboiled egg whites, 1 cup milk
S: Mozzerella cheese stick, diet Dr. Pepper
L: 2 open-faced tuna melts (more egg!), V-8, vanilla yogurt
S: Red bell pepper; hummus, diet Dr. Pepper
S: Apple with natural peanut butter
D: Not sure, but probably chicken with salad
Dessert: FF/SF chocolate fudge pudding with a dab of rediwhip if I'm still hungry or wanting something sweet
Lots and lots of water and probably a hot green tea in there somewhere
I'm planning on going to the gym tonight when DH gets home... might go to the Power Stretch class or do 30 minutes of cardio and then upper body weights.
Have a great Thursday, Everyone!!!
