Restarting Phase II today!

Well, I tried to start Phase II last week with not so great results. I added high fiber cereal in the morning and most days an apple at noon, but fought (and often succumbed to) terrible cravings all week. (that is another post talked about earlier this week). I have a new plan this week. Strictly a Phase I breakfast, and then try the fruit (along with a carb competitor) at lunch or afternoon snack and see if this gets the cravings under control. I'll let you know how it goes!

Where I shop, I haven't found any muffins with fiber that high, but I find the ingredient list on the Pepperidge Farm whole wheat English muffins to be much better IMO, than the Thomas' whole wheat.

Hi Cathy,

In Kroger, it's been a little screwy where they put the whole-grain bread products lately.

They are "Light" - it says "8 grams fiber" on the top of the package (big letters) and on the side too.

I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. I bought these muffins (DH chose them), and then I got home and realized they didn't have 3 g fiber per serving. I did eat 1/2 of one and counted it as 1 starch serving, because it was 1 oz., but didn't eat anymore because I thought they didn't meet the fiber requirement. I thought the requirement was 3g fiber per 1 oz. serving. Is it really better to eat the entire muffin to get the 3g fiber than to eat 1/2 the muffin and only count one starch?

I just noticed that there is enriched, unbleached whole wheat flour in there - but there are so many good things, 0 transfat, 1 gram fat, 0 sugar, etc...
