Losing about a pound a week..

since I started Phase 2. And I am on my third week of phase 2. Although I have to say I dont always get in my 3 grains and three fruits EVERYDAY..I do get at least 2 of each and almost always get in my veggie servings and I make it a must for the dairy..I can be happy with 1 pound a week. (would not mind it speeding up a little) I am just glad I am not gaining! Also,I was wondering why metamucil is recommended? It seems when reading about it that it is used primarily to keep you regular or for constipation. Some people take it with every meal? Is there a certain kind to take?

It sounds like you are doing great! I know it is important, nutritionally, to get those grains and fruits in each day. It is hard for me too. I think there is some give and take in this WOE. Try to get them in WHEN YOU CAN!


Metamucil helps to keep some of us regular. Look for the powder to add to water, or the capsules. They now make a calcium added capsule too. Make sure you buy the sugar free varieties.

Although Metamucil is often taken for constipation, on South Beach it serves an additional purpose.
