by the way, is there such a thing as whole wheat pizza?

South Beach Diet has a frozen pizza out that is made out of whole wheat.

Everyone is different, one slice of pizza wouldn't cause any cravings for me (I never really had true carb "cravings" before SBD either, I had mainly emotional eating issues) But I guess it could for some people.

YES, there is whole wheat pizza! But you probably won't find it in a restaurant or store. We make our own ww pizza about once a week, the kids love it, and my dh prefers it over regular pizza crust!

Here's my recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
3 - 3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
I put it in the bread machine on "dough" setting, then roll it out, add toppings and bake on pizza stone @ 400 for about 15 min.

Also, they make a SBD frozen pizza - there are 3 or 4 varieties (cheese, pepperoni, grilled chicken, etc.) in the freezer section of most supermarkets. They are pretty good! Also Amy's Organic makes a frozen ww pizza that is legal (though its hard to find in my area)

Just curious, but why would a real, 100% whole wheat crust need to be an "occasional" thing? We make ours at home, so I know exactly what is in it - we use sugar-free tomato sauce, low-fat/fat free cheese, TONS of veggies on it, and have it with salad. I always counted it just like I would a serving of any other whole wheat bread product. We do it at least once a week, I don't see any problem with it (and I don't think its hurt my weight loss any)
Just wondering!

MichaelAnn, if you are making it yourself (and know the ingredients, including the cheese) then you're right - Enjoyed with vegetables, this is a fine meal.

Oh, no need to be sorry - no confusion really - I was just curious if there was something new I needed to learn about! ;-)
I could see how it could be tough for some people to just have one piece, so then yeah - it probably wouldn't be a good thing to have all the time for them. I've gotten used to it just being a "side dish" rather than the main part of my meal and only have one slice.
Thanks Susan!
