Question about ground beef/turkey

I'm on my first week in Phase 2, and although I thought I was doing well through Phase 1, I've had some poor planning this week and may not show a loss this week.  I think part of it was my confusion about ground turkey.  I noticed that in all phases, we're allowed to have lean ground beef (with the highest fat content being 10%), but can only have ground turkey breast.  I had 93% fat free ground turkey a few times this week before I realized the error.  Can someone please explain why low-fat ground turkey is not permitted but low-fat ground beef is?  Thank you.

I agree that the turkey thing is confusing. The difference with ground turkey is that there are different varieties available; some use only white meat where others use both white and dark meat.

I only buy the 93% fat free ground turkey, which is why I was surprised about it not being included in the poultry we can eat.
