i can't drink wine because of the sulfites (i'm allergic) and hard liquor is too much for me. my alcohol of choice has always been light beer -- low carbs and low calories. how bad is this instead of wine. i wish i could drink wine -- i love the way it tastes ...

Hi Karen,

SBD has softened it's stance on beer since the book was published.

We actually have the low-carb beers quite a bit (well dh has them A LOT) I love wine too, but lately since starting SB it give me a headache...not sure why. We get the Rolling Rock "Green Lite", its 80 cal, 2 gram carbs. And Michelob Ultra is good too, also about the same cal/carbs. So far they haven't had a negative effect on our weight loss, as long we just stick to 1 (well, dh has 2 usually, but you know men!)

So those are my fav's!

Yes, forget what I said about special occasions -- I copied/pasted my answer from a former answer to somebody else, and she was specifically asking about drinking at a special occasion.

Good, I'm glad you like it! Everyone usually says "ewww, LIGHT beer, how can you drink that?" But I actually like that one, its more refreshing than regular beer I think.
