Its the usual weather here, hot and sunny. I'm *exhausted* today - yesterday was my 4 yr olds big dance show. They do it at a real theatre here, its a HUGE production (43 acts, 3 hrs long, over 200 kids) Most of the acts are just amazing - like the high school age competition dance groups and they have some 16-18 yr old ballet dancers that are just incredible! I was backstage most of the time though, helping the girls get ready and on stage on time and such. It was a new experience for me, I've never been behind the scenes at such a huge theatre, and it was all just amazing! The house was PACKED (almost sold out, over 1000 people!) The girls did SO good! I got to watch from backstage, and they just had so much fun! And the audience loved them!
I did okay on food through all of it...I packed my lunch, snacks, etc. as we were there from 11:30-4. We went out to dinner after ward and I did cheat then, but oh well. I did fine for my entree (grilled chicken, no sauce, veggies) but we all shared some VERY YUMMY onion rings for an appetizer. But it was a pretty special day, so I don't feel too guilty about it.
I have no idea what I'm eating today! I haven't grocery shopped/meal planned for this week since the last week was spent concentrating on this show! I'll have to go to the store today...but first I have to get up the energy to exercise! I haven't in about 3 days, uggh!
breakfast - Kashi Go Lean, milk, banana
Snack - string cheese, soy milk shake
lunch - leftover ceasar salad from dinner - maybe some tuna or cut-up chicken on it
Snack - fruit salad (cantaloupe, honeydew, peaches, grapes)
dinner - no idea!
snack - yogurt or pudding maybe

Hot and muggy here too outside of Philly, and as for the kind of day it is otherwise, well, as TG put it this morning "sweetie, you're working in a Dilbert comic." So I am gritting my teeth and bearing it...only 274 minutes to go.
On the plus side, a breakthrough in craving control!!! One my nemeses brought me a bribe of chocolate this morning, and I have not been the least bit tempted to break the seal. I have it sitting next to me, nutritional label side up, and when the thought of it crosses my mind, I look at the fact that this one tiny little bag contains a full day's worth of calories and saturated fat. TG suggested ice cream for dinner, but it doesn't feel worth it. And our catered lunch today has the infamous cookie platter which I usually love, but I was just down there and they looked completely unappealing.
My best friend wants to call 911, especially when she heard about the ice cream for dinner refusal, lol, but I prefer to think of it as SB finally kicking in this time around!
Today's menu:
B: "oatmeal cookie" pancakes (Can post recipe later, basically it's wg/ww pancakes but you add some wg rolled oats, golden raisins, and chopped nuts)
MS: none, wasn't hungry so saving for this afternoon
L: Chicken wrap on ww tortilla with lettuce and tomato; I have a salad here but am not hungry
AS: either my salad or 4 oz yogurt
D: No idea yet, on my own tonight so probably just snack on veggies
De: I'm thinking PB yogurt, but I'm not sure yet

I usually do pretty well on the weekend, because I'm busy. I'm busy at work, but I sit at a desk and when I'm bored with what I'm doing, I tend to focus on food - what can I eat? when can I eat? This weekend was good, except that I did lick the knife that I used to cut the last of my birthday cake for the kids. I figure I'd done really well at not eating more than the 1 piece I had on my birthday, so licking the knife wasn't too bad. :>
B - fruit smoothie
S - triscuits w/lite alouette
L - big salad with lots of veggies, beans, crab meat and BV
S - 1 tbsp pb
D - stuffed zucchini, broccoli slaw
S - SBD PB cup

It's a beautiful day here in Colorado today - I think it's supposed to get up to 80. It is acutally easier for me to stick to the plan M-F here at work since I have to plan better. I never get in enough water on the weekends - at work it's right in my face on desk in a 2 quart container. I usually don't eat all my meals or snacks on the weekends either. Here is the plan for today:
B-steele cut oats, milk, coffee
S-yogurt, V8
L-tuna salad stuffed in red pepper
S-strawberries, slice lite swiss cheese
D-bunless hamburger, grilled zuchini, baked sweet potato
S-pudding
BTW - I tried the cheesecake sf/ff pudding..............I think I'll stick with chocolate!
Hope you all have a great day!

I guess I didn't realize that you were in Cape Cod - one of my favorite places! My grandmother lived in Chatham and I spent summers there as a child, worked there during my college years, and just visited last year for the first time with my family. How lucky you are (except for the tough winters, of course!)
Hi Everyone!
I took my oldest DD swimming today with a friend and her kids. We are all so exhausted! I'm calling that my workout for today! ;-)

Still new and still looking for advice and opinions , tips on my menu. I have trouble I think getting enough dairy, I am not a big milk person and trying to learn to like yogurt, dont hate it, just don't Love it.
Oh and over the weekend I made the lasagna posted on here somewhere. I did it without the tortillas, cause i bought the wrong ones. So i did black beans, ff refried beans, low fat cheddar cheese, cherry tomatoes, ground turkey, onions and ff sour cream. My mother came over and raved about it, couldnt believe how good it tasted.
I am wondering though is the lasagna a like once in a while splurge recipe because of the beans, cheese and/if you put tortillas in it? Does it become too caloric? Any thoughts?
Thanks as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Liz,
Just took a look at your menu and I have a couple of thoughts. First, it looks like you are getting enough dairy, but you're a little light on the vegetables and protein. Can you add them in at breakfast? How about adding some turkey bacon and V8 at breakfast?
