Happy Friday everyone! Well today was weigh in and this week - down 3lbs! Not really sure how/why - didn't do anything special or different (if anything I exercised LESS!) But oh well! So that puts me at 40lbs gone!
I posted it down below, but here is a link to a before pic and a current one:

Today is my 1st grader (well, 2nd grader now I guess!) first day of summer and he is already driving me NUTS! He misses his friends and school already. And its a nightmare trying to get any exercise done with both kids home. They don't want to let me have the TV/DVD player and living room to myself!
What's everyone planning for the weekend? Any big Father's Day plans? My dad is visiting, he will flying in tomorrow. Sunday we'll probably go swimming, then have a BBQ here. I still don't know what do get him or my dh...I want the kids to make something, but I'm just not feeling creative! We'll probably go to Michael's today for ideas.
breakfast - Kashi cereal w/banana and soy milk, canadian bacon
snack - string cheese
lunch - turkey sandwhich in ww pita, roasted veggies
snack - apple with peanut butter
dinner - chicken eggplant casserole, salad
desert - popcorn (movie night w/dh)

Wow - that is outstanding! To lose 3 pounds in a week when you are so close to goal is just fantastic! Way to go!
We are going to see Thomas the Tank Engine on Sunday. He comes once a year to a small railway in the eastern part of the state, and they have a big festival and train rides. We went when I was pg with DS, and DD was 3 1/2, and now DS is big into Thomas at 2 1/2, so we're going again. The weather here is supposed to be 79 and sunny, so it should be a beautiful day for it. I think DH is as excited about it as Elias, which is good since it's Father's Day.
Here's my plan for today:
B - fruit smoothie
S - cheese cubes
L - cactus cobb salad, tomato onion soup
S - Triscuits w/natural PB
D - grilled filet mignon, grilled zucchini and summer squash, salad
D - I think I'm going to try Maggie's chocolate pie in the oatmeal cookie crust. I read shandc's post above, and she mentioned making it, and it sounded good. Since I have grain servings to burn today, thought I'd try something new.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Everyone:
Nothing really happening at my neck of the woods.But the weekend is going to be swinging as Its Fathers Day along with my birthday.Dh bought me a well wanted cockoo clock for a long time.Can't wait until its delivered.The temps in my area is around the 60's and its cool enough go go out an exercise. Did 45 mins already.
MichaelAnn: your a credit to this board,and big congrats on your 3 lb loss and so near your goal. You're doing fantastic.I see your menu every day,and if you don't mind I'd like to copy some of your day menus. So you think that exercising to much is not good. Maybe I should exercise less also.
My menu today is sort of Phase 1
B=1/2 c l/f cottage cheese, with spread fruit on a bed of lettuce.1 c 1% milk for tea
S=V8
L=tomato & mozz salad with l/c Italian Dress.
S=1 l/f yogurt
D=salad with dress.sea scallops on a bed of white,green,lima beans.
Dessert= s/f jello
Hugs :) Maryann
Maryann - I don't want you to get the wrong idea! I think exercising is VERY VERY good and VERY VERY important (did I say *very*?) I think its just a coincidence that the week I lost more I didn't exercise as much. But in reality it could be that I wasn't eating enough calories to compensate for those weeks that I was exercising more. I did still exercise, but probably 4 times for about 45 min instead of 6 times for 1 hr like I was doing for awhile.
I think I notice that in your menu too, at least for today - maybe you aren't eating enough? It can really backfire and slow our metabolism if we don't get enough calories!
You're welcome to use my menus of course - if you need any recipes or ideas, just ask!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Hi! Well it's been a pretty good day so far :-) my Dh will be home in less than a week now (I'm so excited!) and they are in port this weekend so we've been able to talk on the phone ~ that makes me feel SO much better! Ok well I am allowing myself to have an ever so small "cheat" on the weekends and today was the day ~
Breakfast ~ SBD cereal bar 2 slices bacon
S 15 almonds
L grilled chicken breast with ff cheese
S ff sf mocha
D salad with radishes, chicken and ff cheese (1tsp ranch)
S 1/2 scoop baskin robbins Maui madness frozen yogurt (and it was SO yummy!!!) I bought a kids scoop and then I just ate 1/2 of it. That way I could enjoy every bite of it without feeling guilty :-)
I haven't worked out yet today but I think I may hop on the treadmill for about 30 mins now that I've had my yummy frozen yogurt! I also didn't get nearly enough veggies but I've just not been that hungry today and I really splurged a bit (with the cereal bar and the frozen yogurt)

Thanks MichaleAnn for answering my post so rapidly.
I'm on Phase 1 this week,as I'm trying so hard to get the last 2 lbs off that I gained on a cruise that I took last Oct. I tried all different Phases from 1,2 & 3(adding more good carbs)& eating more, but nothing seems to help. I exercise from walking,firming with weights to biking every other day (expect on Sunday)for 60 mins a day.Should be 130 for my height,but my doctor told me that he wants me to go down to 140 as that would take me off the overweight section of the BWI.He says the charts are too low for my bone structure.I have 10 more pounds to go,as of this morning.Loss 2 lbs already being on Phase 1. Next W-I will be on Wednesday. Hugs :) Maryann
P.S. I will look over your menu and for next week food journal Thanks MaW
