Good morning everyone! Another day off from work for me. The boyfriend (there's got to be another term to use since I am not 16 I feel odd saying I have a boyfriend - significant other maybe?) Anyhow he had cataract surgery yesterday and I am playing nurse :-) I have to say it is much easier for me to stay on plan while I am at work. I blew it yesterday with dark chocolate. Here's my plan for today:

B- steel cut oats, milk, coffee, V8
S- yogurt
L -tuna wrap
S- canteloupe & cheese stick
D -grilled pork chops, zucchini & onions
S - pudding

Hope everyone has a great day!

Andrea

I posted this on monday but I am reposting hoping for some feedback to the question-

good morning - I'm a day late but a pound short!

i didn't weigh yesterday because its my off week for boot camp and my cycle week and i tennd to hold water so i got on the scale this am hoping to be the same or only up a pund or so which would likely be water - and I was down a pound. I have been being a little stricter with my SB so I am pleased. I'll be honest - i cheat on occasion, but I do it because if I totally deprive myself i'll be miserable and who needs that!!!

Now I am back at my plateau weight of 173 - I feel like if I can break through 170 I will drop the rest - hence my return to following SB more closely...we shall see.

here is my menu for today...

Breakfast - bowl of Kashi go lean with 3 huge strawberries and 6 oz 1% milk (Question - any tips for someone who hates tomato/V8 juice? I can sort of tolerate mr & mrs t's with a lot of lime and vodka....lol)
snack - pear and laughing cow
lunch - 3oz tuna with mayo, boiled egg and mustard, 10 cherrie tomatoes, whole cucumber with hoome made veggie dip (one tbl spon sour cream with tupperware veggie seasoning mix)& 5 triscuits and some yogurt (this i may actually switch with the nuts)
snack - small bag of mixed nuts (i buy the raw nuts separately - pecan/almonds/walnuts/peanuts/soy nuts - and mix them in a huge plastic bottle to have on hand)
dinner - don't know yet.....wait DH just called, okay we are having cabbage and roast beef so he and the kids will have rice, and i'll have a salad

ml, I used to hate tomato juice/V-8 and sort of grew to like it, but if you don't like it, then you certainly don't have to drink it! V-8 is really recommended for those who are used to drinking juice in the morning and want a juice-type drink. And it's also recommended as a good way to start the day with vegetables... but if you don't like it, it's okay... just make sure you get your 4.5 cups minimum of vegetables in at other times throughout the day.

Congratulations on losing that lb! Every lb. counts for sure. And good luck breaking through your plateau. I know how frustrating they can be!

ML - if you don't like V-8, don't drink it! I HATE it, literally makes me gag. Its not necissary, it is just a suggested way to get in some veggies with breakfast. Honestly I don't do veggies with breakfast hardly ever, I just make sure to get my 4.5 cups throughout the rest of the day (usually split between lunch and dinner) and it has worked fine for me.
HTH!

Boring day ahead - this week the kids don't have any activities or things planned. So we'll just be relaxing since next week they start swimming lessons every day and dance class again.
Funny thing - yesterday on a whim I tried on my wedding dress! It fit - actually it was too BIG. It would need to be taken in a couple inches to even be wearable! I was in awe. I was 130 on my wedding day, 140 now - I never exercised back then at all and I do now. So it just goes to show how the number on the scale means NOTHING!! I'm much smaller at 140 than I was at 130. And I would much rather be a smaller size (since that is what people see) than worry about the number on the scale since no one sees that!

Anyhow - today's menu:

breakfast - Kashi waffle, yogurt
snack - string cheese
lunch - Gardenburger on ww pita, salad
snack - apple w/peanut butter
dinner - chili, roasted broccoli, homemade pita "chips"
desert - soy milk shake w/banana

That's awesome, MichaelAnn! It must have felt really good to have that positive feedback when you put on your wedding dress.

My plan for today . . .

B - oatmeal w/PB, fruit smoothie
S - 7 triscuits with lite cream cheese
L - chili, side salad (going to Steak 'n' Shake w/friends)
S - maybe a cheese stick, probably nothing (busy afternoon at work)
D - grilled chicken, roasted broccoli, salad
S - sbd pb cup

I had basically the same dinner last night, only I had brown rice with it. My 2.5 yo DS, who is an extremely picky eater, ate the broccoli like there was no tomorrow. I was so excited! Thing is, what he does eat is healthy, he just doesn't have much variety. His favorite things are grilled salmon, avacodo, cooked spinach and apples - but we're constantly looking for something to mix-up his diet. We're going to be having roasted broccoli a lot more often!

Lora - my 4.5 yr old VERY picky eater also loves the roasted broccoli! She gobbles it up - and her next favorite is roasted asparagus (she likes to pick it up with her fingeers and dip it in salad dressing)
