Hello all! I have gone back to Phase 2 after being gone for a while. I don't have the cravings I thought I would have, so that is why I have started back with Phase 2. Anyway, have any of you incorporated any of the Kraft South Beach Diet foods into your eating? I was just wondering how to do it, and if you have, have any of your cravings come back? I noticed the other day that they now have snacks (cookies, crackers, etc.) in addition to the meals. Any advice? Thanks!

Jen,

I've tried the SBD Oatmeal Cookies. Be careful, however. They're good! I've got a sweet tooth, and I think after a 'rough' weekend my cravings have returned. While I stuck to SBD-friendly foods, I way overdid it on sweet foods yesterday, definitely exceeding, maybe tripling the 75 sweet calorie maximum. But if you're going to blow it on sweets, better to have 'legal' sweets. I've also purchased (but not yet tried) the breakfast bars. I suspect they'll be handy for days when I just don't have time to scramble eggs. Weekends, particularly.

The meals looked decent, and I thought they would be nice to bring in to work for lunch, though I didn't buy any yet.

Hi ladies,

Here is a link to some information about the Kraft products that cl-Cathy posted.

I think it depends on which product - I don't think they are all created equal! Personally I think the frozen meals are pretty good. They seem to fit with the SBD guidlines and philosophies pretty well. The cereal bars are also pretty close. But some other products like the meal replacement bars (VERY high in sugar alcohol, contain butter, cream, etc) and the cereal seem to be way off of the SBD guidelines (they actually changed to cereal guidelines for SB to make the Kraft products fit!)

So this is what I have been doing...I do use the frozen meals, probably 1 time a week. There is always that one day that I am busy and running around and don't feel like cooking myself lunch. I keep the cereal bars around for emergencies, like days that I know I will be out during snack time and not have access to other SBD friendly foods. It ends up also being about once a week.

I have had the crackers and cookies, and while I think they are pretty well within the SB guidlines (considering they are a prepackaged snack food!) But they are just too much of a temptation for me to have around. Especially the cookies - I could have eaten the whole box (or two or three boxes!) So I'm staying away for now and will try them again in a couple months and see.

I eat the cereal a couple of days a week. I know it has less fiber than some, but I really like the taste and I don't normally like cereal. I always keep a couple of the wrap kits on hand for days that I want to take lunch to work, but don't have any leftovers. I just make a salad with it and go. I also have a couple of the meals and pizzas on hand for nights that I don't feel like cooking. I just don't eat all of this as a steady diet. I probably eat the cereal the most regularly.
