Happy Thursday everyone! Busy, busy day...my MIL is coming to visit and will be here Saturday. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning today! I am SOOOO nervous, I always get this way when she comes (we don't have a great history) I couldn't sleep last night - and my face is breaking out! That always happens when I am stressed.

breakfast - oatmeal made with milk
snack - soy milk shake
lunch - PB&J "roll" on Flatbread, salad
snack - grapes and string cheese
dinner - ?? not sure yet??
snack - SBD Peanut butter cup

Here is how my day is shaping up:

B: peanut butter oatmeal with 1 cup skim milk

L: leftover chicken, black beans, tomatoes over salad with salsa

D: grilled BBQ chicken, salad with red onion and gorgonzola cheese

I am looking forward to the weekend! DH is off tomorrow, so we will do some errands tomorrow. We are doing a kitchen addition and there is lots of planning and shopping to be done. Then my sis and her new baby may come out for part of the weekend - yippee!

Here is a little check in--

I fell off the wagon for two days(ziti & brownies), but in effect I learned a HUGE lesson from it, so I am taking it in stride. The reason things went haywire is because I was completely sleep deprived--I had taken way too many shifts at work and wasn't getting a full 6-7 hours in. I was surprised at how much difference this really does make in terms of energy and willpower!

My sugar cravings also flew back, so I am going to tread cautiously into the next few days. Today looks like this--

B-2 egg omlette w/ rf monterey jack cheese and sf tom sauce, 1/4 cup blueberries
S-small dunkin donuts coffee w/ splenda
L- salad with leftover chicken, salsa, sourcream & cheddar cheese
S- 2 celery stalks w/ PB
D- salad with some type of fish TBA

and just to let everyone know, I am walking around my roomates "I'm sick/took day off day foods" which includes a huge opened bag of sour patch kids and two pizza hut pizzas. UGH!

<(31 hrs in the car with 5 kids ~ should be fun HAHA) > Oh, Joy - that's the kind of thing that would have me eating my way through a bag of Dove chocolates! I only have 2, but sometimes I think I'll go nuts with the "It's MYYYYY turn to talk to Mommy!" "No, it's MYYYYY turn to talk to Mommy!" Will one of you just please say what you have to say to Mommy and be done with it!?!?!? And you know what the answer is from my 2 yo DS, "Mommy - sissy was talking when it was my turn." Every single time - that's all he wanted to say!

DD's frog (little aqua baby) died last night after 4.5 years. Poor thing, she sobbed until after midnight and woke up crying again this morning at 6 a.m. We had a long talk about how Goldie would want her to be happy not sad, he had a long happy life, and on and on, but I'm not sure it's helping. The result is I got less than 6 hours of sleep, and for me, that usually means water retention and bloating, I don't know why. I felt bulky this morning and was shocked to see a new low - 209.5! I am so jazzed!

Here's today's plan:

B - fruit smoothie, LF Triscuits w/lite cream cheese
S - none
L - large salad with lots of veggies, sunflower seeds, eggs, chicken, BV
S - none
D - grilled chicken, spaghetti squash patties, WW pita w/baba ghanouj, salad
S - SBD pb cup

Have a great day!

I am STRUGGLING! 2 weeks ago (in Phase 1) I could (and did) pass up cake, cookies, all that BAD stuff. Here I am, 1.5 weeks into phase 2, 2 (maybe 3 by now!) lbs heavier, and my sweet tooth has returned. Does this sound like a return to Phase 1 to you experts and CLs? Is that what I need to do? Because I'm going to FAIL, and gain everything back and then some.

Here's my plan today:

B - Kashi WW Waffle & couple TBSP SF Syrup, Veggie Sausate Patty, NF/SF Mocha, 4 oz Skim Milk
S - Celery & 2 TBSP Peanutbutter
L - Grilled Chicken Salad w/ Ranch (And tortilla strips -- forgot to 86 them!)
S - Cottage Cheese, No Sugar Added Blue Bunny Ice Cream Bar (sweet tooth struck again)
D - Salad, Green Beans, Grilled Chicken or Salmon
S - Don't deserve one tonight...probably just have a glass of Skim Milk

Any suggestions? My newfound confidence that I had 2 weeks ago is gone, and I'm feeling like I'm back at square 1. Ugh.

MichaelAnn, I read your post about what happened with your MIL and your wedding a few weeks ago and that whole situation makes ME stressed out... I can only imagine how YOU feel. Hang in there, Girl! Don't let her get you down!

Here's what's going on here...

B: Kashi waffle with SF syrup, scoop cottage cheese, blueberries/raspberries/blackberries, coffee with Cappucino soy milk (my new fave!)

S: At the pool... Mixed fruit cup (kiwi, grapes, honeydew, canteloupe), 4 or so of DD's baked Lay's potato chips (whoops!)

L: WW pita with turkey and cheese, lettuce, tomato and a dab of mustard, V-8

S: Red bell pepper and broccoli with hummus, banana "shake"

D: Orange roughy with lemon, sauteed spinach, asparagus, salad with black beans and a tsp. BV dressing

Dessert: yogurt

Exercise: 60 minutes on the treadmill (sprints and hills), weight training: biceps, chest, abs

Have a great day!

Thanks Kim - I REALLY needed that right now! I hopped on to take a break from the mopping, disinfecting, washing windows, giving the dog a bath, etc., etc. to prepare for her visit. And I think I was about to lose it! Anyhow - I'm sure I will some interesting stories to share after she leaves!!

Oh Lora! First you had me laughing so hard I was almost crying with your car story...I am SO relate! Then I was in tears for your dd - I know how hard that is. We lost our lab about 1.5 yrs ago, she had been around since before the kids and she was my dd's BEST friend. DD was 3 at the time and just beside herself. None us slept for a long time. Even now, we have a new dog who she ADORES - but she still talks about Sadie once a week and how much she misses her :-(
I hope your dd is feeling better soon!

Hey - MichaelAnn - I feel for you. My DH asked me to marry him on our first date, when he was here from the Middle East on a student visa, and we eloped 3 months later. His mom and brother were on the next plane here and stayed FOR 6 WEEKS in our one bedroom apartment! Are you going to feed him THAT? was a favorite of hers. 18+ years later, and I'm still holding a grudge. When we were going through infertility treatments, she would regularly write me letters asking WHY I had not provided a grandchild yet and when I do, it should be a boy and his name should be Najeeb - DH's father name (who I love, but Najeeb????). Thankfully, they live an ocean away, but when we do visit every few years, I spend practically the entire time either biting my tongue or crying.

Anyway, I feel your pain! At least she'll be on your turf. That should help.

((Hugs))

Lora
